Joy Villa stole the spotlight at the 2017 Grammy Awards held on Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The 25-year-old singer shocked everyone when she revealed a custom red, white and blue dress with the words “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” and “TRUMP” emblazoned in sequins.
U.S. President Donald Trump made the slogan “Make America Great Again” his campaign rallying cry.
As a result of all the post-Grammys publicity, sales of Villa’s 2014 album, I Make the Static, is skyrocketing.
Villa’s album is leading Amazon.com in sales over Beyonce and Adele, who each won Grammys on Sunday.
The California native silenced her critics in an Instagram.com post:
“You can either stand for what you believe in or fall for what you don’t. Agree to disagree.”
