Legendary musician Carlos Santana outraged the #BeyHive when he suggested that Beyoncé Knowles lost the Album of the Year Grammy to Adele Adkins because Beyoncé sucks as a singer.
“I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing,” he told the New Zealand Herald. “With all respect to our sister Beyoncé, Beyoncé is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modeling kind of music — music to model a dress — she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her.”
After the BeyHive dragged Mr. Santana to Kingdom Come, he walked back his statement, stopping just short of issuing an outright apology.
The 69-year-old guitarist wrote on Facebook.com:
“My comment about Beyonce was regretfully taken out of context. I have the utmost respect for her as an artist and a person. She deserves all the accolades that come her way. I wish Beyonce and her family all the best.”
But Santana’s half-apology wasn’t enough. So Beyoncé, who is expecting twins, gave Santana the finger. How tacky of Bey to include her mother in her ratchetness.

It’s been over a decade for me but if I remember correctly mine poked out at the end of the pregnancy, like in the final couple of months or so. Maybe all of these photos are being taken before her outee develops, she has a ways to go.

Both ladies are very good vocalists but who is better is based on subjectivity and taste. I like both of their voices but I prefer Beyonce’s because of her mad range. She can go from deep, low and growly to highs that are smooth and soft and everywhere in between while Adele tends to keep the same tone through out every song. Beyonce uses different styles of singing and “Lemonade” wasn’t really a vocal display album along the lines of “4”, but those of us who follow her live concert performances know the range that she is capable of. Santana’s comment makes me think he didn’t even listen to the two albums to form an opinion and just voted based on who he assumes is the better singer. If that’s the case AOTY should always go to whoever consistently belts out songs the strongest but we all know it doesn’t work like that. Every album or song is not about belting, sometimes other forms of singing work better for a particular project.

I understand where you are coming from but 4 or 5 months is pretty early on. Full term pregnancies actually last close to 10 months even though everyone rounds it down to 9, if there’s no outie by the seventh month or so then I’d be a bit more suspicious.

As for Adele’s voice, I loved 19 and I’ve listened to it countless times and I also like a few songs from 22. Many of her songs from those two albums are on my mp3 player. So I am very familiar with Adele’s voice. She has a great soulful tone but she has very little vocal range in comparison to a singer like Beyonce in my opinion and based on the many live performances that I’ve seen, Adele’s voice doesn’t quite hold up to her studio recordings. As for Christina, I like her voice as well when she’s not hollering.
