R&B icon Teena Marie‘s 25-year-old daughter Alia Rose posted this photo of her adorable son on Instagram.com early Saturday. Teena Marie died on December 26, 2010 after suffering a seizure. Alia Rose found her mother unresponsive at her home.
Alia said, when she was 14, her mother told her she would not live long. She continues her mother’s legacy by singing under the name Rose Lebeau.
Early in Alia’s life there was speculation that Funk legend Rick James was Alia’s father. But her father, Peter, a postal worker, was a constant, stable presence in her life growing up. Loving fathers are crucial to a girl’s psychosexual growth and development.
