Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam is going after ex-husband Ed Hartwell‘s NFL pension. The 38-year-old single mom is asking a judge to allow her to collect child support payments directly from the retired football player’s pension.
The former Cosby Show star and Hartwell tied the knot on New Year’s Day 2016 after dating for about a month.
The couple split days after announcing her pregnancy several months later. Hartwell subsequently filed for divorce and questioned the paternity of the unborn child.
Pulliam gave birth to daughter Ella Grace in late January 2017, and Hartwell accepted his responsibility after a DNA test proved he was the father. In his court documents for joint custody of little Ella Grace, Hartwell stated he was happy to pay child support.
But Pulliam claims he has been late on his payments. She asked the judge to put Hartwell behind bars until he is caught up on his payments.
The 39-year-old linebacker was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. He played for various NFL teams including the Atlanta Falcons. He last played for the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League in 2010. His NFL pension is his only means of support.
Pulliam is Hartwell’s second wife. He was married to reality TV star Lisa Wu for 5 years. They divorced in 2011. Ed and Lisa have a 10-year-old son together, Edgerton Hartwell, Jr.
