Waka Flocka Flame‘s drastic weight loss is inspiring his fans to lose weight. The 31-year-old “O Let’s Do It” rapper once tipped the scales at 300 pounds. He credits a vegan diet with helping him lose the weight.
“I was fat. I had stretch marks. I just got tired of it,” Waka explains in a new promotional video for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
He said he noticed the weight loss was good for his overall health, and that was all the convincing he needed to stick to the meat and dairy-free diet.
“I got on stage, I felt better,” he says. “My attitude was better. Like, everything about me was better.”
Waka is a dog lover who has worked with PETA to help save animals over the years.
The new PETA “Vegan Roundtable” campaign clip also features hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and R&B singer Mya sharing the reasons for their vegan lifestyles.
