A burglar accidentally broke into the residence of the Wyoming governor on Tuesday. Antoine Lewis, 35, was searching for valuables to sell for cash when he broke into the gated estate of Wyoming Governor Matt Mead.
Police say Lewis was armed with a hunting knife when he entered the governor’s residence and tripped an alarm.
Police responded to the location within seconds and caught Lewis hiding in a bathroom. Officials say Lewis “tried to” attack an officer with his hunting knife before he was tackled to the floor by half a dozen officers.
Lewis was taken into custody and charged with aggravated burglary and criminal entry, police say.
