Chris Brown was arrested for felony assault following his concert in South Florida on Thursday.
The troubled singer was booked into the Palm Beach County jail and released after posting $2,000 bond early Friday.
Brown was arrested following his concert at the Coral Sky Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach. Palm Beach County police executed an arrest warrant issued by the Tampa Police Department, ABC News reports. Brown was booked into jail at 11 p.m. Thursday.
Felony assault is a more serious variation of the misdemeanor assault. It can involve violence of an indecent nature against a woman. A felony assault conviction carries a stiffer prison term than a regular assault charge.
Details of the arrest warrant were not released to the public. It isn’t clear when or where the assault occurred.
Brown has a history of assaulting women dating back to his 2009 arrest for savagely beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
