Nicki Minaj threw in the towel after she was embarrassed and humiliated on the Ellen Degeneres Show on Monday.
The “Barbie Tingz” rapper tricked hapless rapper Cardi B into helping her promote the music video for Tyga‘s remixed track “Dip”, which dropped on Monday.
Both Nicki and Cardi traded jabs on social media, with Nicki calling out Cardi for lying about a physical run-in with rapper Remy Ma. Both rappers shared “receipts” on social media in a war of words that threatened to drag on for weeks — until Ellen Degeneres stepped in and ended the dispute.
During a segment on Monday, the daytime talk show host invited several children onstage to show off their Halloween costumes. One little girl said she was dressed up as Nicki, which drew giggles from the live audience.
But the audience erupted in laughter when Ellen, 60, attached a stiletto shoe to the side of little girl’s head.
“Now this is, uh, the shoe that Cardi B threw at you,” said Ellen.
She then tossed some candy into the child’s pumpkin and sent her on her way.
Ellen didn’t have to embarrass the child on live TV, but it had to be done to show those 2 grown women how childish their antics were.
No doubt Nicki watched the embarrassing clip, took her ‘L’ and wisely decided to call a truce.
It’s one thing to argue online with an uneducated rapper, but to be dissed on national TV in front of millions of viewers is the kind of humiliation that ends rap careers. Just ask Ja Rule!
Nicki took to Twitter and wrote: “Ok you guys, let’s focus on positive things only from here on out. We’re all so blessed. I know this stuff is entertaining & funny to a lot of people but I won’t be discussing this nonsense anymore. Thank you for the support & encouragement year after year. Love you.”
Cardi responded: “Alright then! Let’s keep it positive and keep it pushing!”
Hopefully both ladies will keep their word and let their music do their talking.
