Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams dropped her challenge of the Georgia governor’s race on Friday and conceded the race to winner Brian Kemp late Friday.
According to the Associated Press, Abrams said she couldn’t win the Georgia governor’s race, effectively ending her challenge.
Earlier today, Abrams’ camp announced they retained nearly three dozen lawyers to mount an unprecedented challenge to the validity of the Georgia gubernatorial election.
The Associated Press reports Abrams’ team amassed nearly three dozen lawyers to draft a petition to the Supreme Court, along with affidavits from voters and would-be voters who argue they were illegally disenfranchised during the election on Nov. 6.
But as the 5 p.m. deadline approached to certify the election, Abrams ended her challenge, saying her chance of overturning the results was slim.
