Fans aren’t the only ones hating on Nick Jonas’s May-December marriage to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. An American website drew the ire of Nick’s brother, Joe Jonas, for publishing a “disgusting” story about the power couple.
The 36-year-old actress and the 26-year-old American pop singer and actor Nick Jonas first tied the knot during a Christian ceremony on Saturday and then returned to the Umaid Bhawan Palace on Sunday for a sacred service that honored the bride’s Hindu faith.
Not everyone was happy for them.
Editors at website The Cut were forced to remove a hateful story attacking the newlyweds after Nick’s brother, Joe Jonas, called the story “evil”.
The pop star and his fiancee, actress Sophie Turner, both took to Twitter on Wednesday to attack the writer and publishers of the article.
“This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words,” Joe wrote. “What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next,” he added, referencing the title of Ariana Grande’s latest hit.
Sophie added, “This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls**t.”
Editors took note and quickly erased the article, replacing it with a picture of Priyanka and Nick and adding the note: “Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize.”
The Cut article, headlined ‘Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ Love For Real?’, suggested Nick Jonas wed Chopra “against his will”. The writer added that his relationship with Chopra was a scam to boost her career.
Both Jonas and Turner attended the newlyweds’ nuptials in India.
