Actor Forest Whitaker filed for divorce from his wife Keisha Nash Whitaker after 22 years of marriage. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Whitaker, 57, filed divorce papers on Thursday.
Whitaker cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce action. He added that he does not want to pay spousal support and he wants both parties to be responsible for their own legal fees.
Keisha, 46, once had a successful modeling career with Ford and Elite modeling agencies. She also appeared on episodes of TLC’s Who Are You Wearing?
Her dramatic weight loss in 2014 sparked rumors that she had a drug problem.
The Whitakers tied the knot in 1996 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They share two daughters, Sonnet and True, and each also has a child from previous relationships.
On Christmas Day, Forest tweeted:
“Christmas is a celebration of solidarity — a time of the year when we are reminded that the bonds our families, friends, fellow citizens and beyond are based on sharing and bringing joy.”
