Black Twitter is still fuming over B. Smith’s husband, Dan Gasby, moving his mistress into Smith’s home. Before hooking up with Gasby, and moving in on Smith, Lerner dated Black restaurateur Dard Coaxum (pictured).
According to theYBF.com, Lerner, who met Gasby in summer 2017 at a Hamptons bar, may have had a secret rendezvous with Coaxum after Gasby moved her into B. Smith’s ultra modern Hamptons home in late 2017.
Lerner broke up with Coaxum after he was convicted of killing a man with one punch.
via theYBF — Our source tells us Alex left Dard after he was found guilty of a deadly assault and sentenced to 15 months in prison in 2016. In the summer of 2015, Dard got into an altercation with a man named Julio Torres at a New York restaurant. Ish escalated and Dard ended up punching the man so hard he fell and hit his head, suffered permanent brain damage, and eventually died. Dard argued that he acted in self-defense. Alex, who was his girlfriend at the time, was there to see it all go down and even took the stand in his defense.
Smith, 69, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s soon after she began to experience profound memory loss in 2009. Smith is best known for her trendy restaurants, lifestyle books and TV cooking shows.
Alzheimer’s is caused by plaques that destroy brain cells over time. As the disease progresses, it causes a slow decline in memory, thinking and reasoning skills.
Gasby, 64, defended his “modern family” in an exclusive Washington Post article. Gasby said Lerner is a “huge help” around the house. He routinely fires back at Smith’s fans on social media who criticize him for breaking his marital vows.
“I’ve been married to a black woman for 26 years. I have a PhD in black love,” he told The Washington Post.
Lerner, 53, justified her awkward situation by asserting “this is not a man cheating on his wife.”
“What I admired about him is that he takes care of her,” Lerner told The Post. Lerner claims she has her own bedroom in Smith’s house, where she stays when she’s not visiting her Manhattan apartment.
“If I can be compassionate to her, if I can do anything for her, it makes me feel good,” she told The Post. “If it is giving her something to drink, or making her something to eat – she loves to eat – I feel good.”
Dana, Gasby’s 32-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, says she warns her dad about flaunting his mistress on social media.
“I tell him all the time to be careful what he posts,” she said. “I say: ‘Look, you’re going to make people mad. You either have to be okay with that, or you have to change.'”
Dana said she was “happy” when her father told her he’d found another lover. “I was like, ‘Thank God. I’m happy,” she told The Post. She said she was glad her father didn’t abandon Smith or move her into a nursing facility.
“B. is my mom. She’s in this house. She’s here every day,” said Dana, who also moved in the house to help care for Smith.
