Wendy Williams cut the purse strings to estranged husband Kevin Hunter who reportedly used her money to finance his double life. The daytime talk show diva recently filed for a divorce from her husband of 22 years after he welcomed a baby with his mistress last month.
Sources close to Wendy tell TMZ she totally cut Kevin off from her money and has hired a team to ensure all of her finances are safe and secure.
According to TMZ, Wendy separated their funds and created new accounts in anticipation of this day. She once said she would tolerate anything except an outside baby.
Wendy, 54, is adjusting well to single life. She reportedly moved into a fancy apartment in Manhattan close to her job at Chelsea Studios. TMZ’s sources say she signed the lease on her new home a few weeks ago and has already paid rent for the next year.
Wendy is in the process of moving out of her Livingston, New Jersey mansion where she and Kevin raised their son, Kevin Hunter, Jr. She waited until her son went off to college before she put Plan B into motion.
Hunter, 47, was given 48 hours to pack his things and get out.
Wendy has known for years that her husband was cheating on her with his longtime girlfriend Sharina Hudson, 34. But Wendy reportedly warned him to be discrete and keep his affair out of the streets.
Rumor has it that Hudson leaked the couple’s tea to the tabloids in hopes of forcing him to divorce Wendy. But Hunter reportedly said he couldn’t divorce Wendy because she financed his lifestyle.
Hunter received a modest severance package after he was fired as executive producer of The Wendy Williams Show. But friends insist he will be broke within 6 months.
