Kim Fields clarified reports that she is planning the memorial service for the late Beth Chapman, star of the reality show, Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Fields, 50, faced backlash from social media users who claim Chapman and her husband Duane “Dog” Chapman are racists.
Chapman died on June 26 after a long battle with throat cancer at age 51. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday in Colorado. Thousands are expected to attend the service, which will be live-streamed on WGNAmerica.com.
In an exclusive interview with ET on Thursday, Fields clarified that she has a small role in the planning of the memorial service. Fields attends the same church where the Chapmans worshipped, the Heritage Christian Center. Fields is in charge of visual and social media content for the church.
“In the name of service, we have different roles that we are executing,” Fields told ET. “That being said, my role here at the church is leading up visual and social media and content. Of course, any time there is service here at the church, I spearhead an awesome team that’s responsible for everything that goes on camera, as well as the streaming. So, when those components got pulled into the Chapman service, that’s me and my department. That is all.”
