Local dentist and friend of the blog, Dr. Joe N. Lester has written a new book about feuds within southern churches.
In his new book, entitled Baptized by Fire, Dr. Lester wrote a poignant story about feuds within churches that has managed to divide families, friends, colleagues, and even communities.
A small town in rural middle Georgia is the setting of Baptized by Fire. The novel tells the story of an old-fashioned church revival at a prominent African American church in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Joe Fry, the story’s protagonist, returns home expecting a week of rest and relaxation. Instead he finds himself caught in a feud between two men of faith so blinded by their own desires, they don’t see the enemy that has unleashed an army of demons on the town.
Baptized by Fire is suspense-packed, fast-paced, realistic and unfiltered Christian fiction about love, religion, deceit, and loyalty, all played out through the fields and swamps of the farming region of Pulaski County.
Baptized by Fire is a good read interlaced with suspense and tragedy, love and betrayal in the rural south. The book explores the politics of religion, power, and real-life consequences. Baptized by Fire is available on Amazon and Abebooks.com.
