Nicole Murphy has apologized to longtime friend Lela Rochon – and to women everywhere who lost their cheating husbands to drop dead gorgeous women.
Murphy and director Antoine Fuqua, 53, were spotted locking lips after bumping into each other at the hotel where they were staying in Italy.
Nicole, 51, initially denied anything inappropriate occurred between her and Antoine. But paparazzi photos of the two appearing to kiss sparked backlash against the mom-of-5.
On Monday, Murphy told blogger B. Scott she and Fuqua were “just friends.”
In a statement to TMZ on Wednesday, Nicole, 51, said, “Without going into the entire situation, I want to apologize to my family, and to [Fuqua’s wife] Lela [Rochon] and the Fuqua family for what transpired,” she said. “It was not my intention to be in this situation. I do not condone women kissing or interacting in anyway inappropriately with a married man. I too was once married and I would never intentionally undermine another woman, despite what has been written.”
Murphy told TMZ she was under the impression that Fuqua was single. It was previously revealed that Fuqua and Rochon have an open marriage. The estranged couple share two children – daughter Asia, 16, and son Brando, 15.
Murphy and ex-husband Eddie share 5 children together.
