Jussie Smollett recently unloaded his Los Angeles area mansion at a $32,000 loss. The unemployed actor listed his home shortly after he was fired from Fox TV’s Empire.
According to The Blast, the actor sold off his 3-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 7,573 sq. ft. Studio City home in a private sale for $1,655,000.
The property was not listed on public multiple listing services. But public records show the sale closed on July 15.
The private listing boasted “Two car garage, custom Dolby 5.1 surround sound, Pro Cooks Kitchen, Exotic Wood Decking, to Nest operated Heating and Cooling systems,” and a complex home security system with multiple cameras.
Smollett, 34 took a loss of $31,530 in the private sale.
The actor purchased the house in 2017 under a trust named J’s Love Trust.
He likely sold the property to pay his legal fees in Chicago. The openly homosexual actor faces possible new charges in a hate crime hoax in which he alleged he was ambushed and beaten by 2 Trump supporters who called him racial and homosexual slurs.
He was also ordered to pay the city of Chicago $150,000 to recoup the costs of the investigation.
