NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony is grieving the sudden passing of his beloved sister Michelle Anthony. She was 36.
ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Michelle Anthony, Carmelo Anthony’s sister, is dead at 36. Carmelo Anthony left last night’s game upon news of his sister’s death. Michelle Anthony suffered from a pre-existing medical condition not disclosed to news Wednesday night.
Carmelo was in San Antonio with the Nuggets when he learned of his sister’s passing. She is survived by four children. Michelle was a resident of Baltimore.
Anthony said he will return to his team after Christmas. Their next game is Saturday at Oklahoma City. Team officials confirm his absence from practice two days earlier was not connected to Michelle’s condition.
The Nuggets released the following statement to news last night: “Our entire organization supports Carmelo during this difficult time for him and his family. It is heartbreaking news, particularly during the holiday season.”
A family representative issued the following brief statement to CBS News last night that “It is a difficult time. especially during the holidays.”

Uhm, about this wife draft business…. Do you have to enter the draft (NBA NFL style) or is this a military style (we need to be dodging it)? Will the contracts have trade clauses and kickers? May I see the salary scale and collectinve bargaining agreement? Will you be holding workouts and what of the mid majors or D-II prosepcts whom you haven’t seen?
And why isn’t Civil in it?

We are still ironing out the details. There will be elements of a sports draft (draft order, picks, equal value, etc.) but also military-esq in that the ladies have no choice. They are obligated to participate.
I love your idea of “work outs” however. This provides the “Brotherhood” invaluable information to better evaluate draft posistion.
There is no collective bargaining agreement in place. Are the ladies proposing they form some sort of union? At any rate, we would be agreeable to review a counter pro-posal before the actual draft takes place.
Unfortunately, there is only room for 4 males to participate in the draft. Should Sandra open registration and there is more females on the site, Civil can apply as an “expansion Family” and be we can have a new draft. In a situation like this, the existing families will need to have at least one wife “unprotected” and Civil can choose from the “unprotected” wives.
