I see what you’re saying about judging those other celebrities, I try not too myself but they are judged as an individual and based on how they act (though in Fantasia’s case it seems to be based on her looks which goes back to what I was referencing). When people say something about people’s color it is offensive to anyone who looks like what is criticized. I think that if it didn’t happen so often it wouldn’t be as disturbing. Everyone judges people but it is wrong especially since no one is perfect but IMO and off topic sort of judging people who hurt others is ok

If a black man says, “I like my woman with light skin.” – He ain’t $hit. If a black woman says, “I like my men light, with green eyes and “good” hair. – SHE ain’t $hit.

I’m trying to understand why there’s a double-standard.
On the other side of this coin, I don’t necessarily think that light skin with long, silky hair was ALWAYS the preference of so many brothers like Wayne. I think fame and MONEY changed their preferences, for surely Lil Wayne would have taken ANY woman he could get at some point with his visually challenged a$$, but once he got money, he decided to go with the TREND of light skin and long hair like most brothers.
What I find interesting about these brothers is, you go and marry the lightest (often whitest) woman you can find when you get money, the same broads who wouldn’t have even looked in your unattractive direction even if you made $100,000 per year, but the minute you became rich and famous, suddenly, the average sized, average looking chick who let you drive HER car while SHE went to work, the same one who let you live in HER house smoking weed and playing playstation with your homies all day without paying rent, was traded in for an often blonde haired, blue eyed model type who wouldn’t spit you out if you were on fire prior to you bringing Jimmy Choo and gated communities into her life.

It’s easy to try to decipher rap lyrics, or even statements from rappers whose spoken word is often a soliloquy.
At the end of the day, I interpreted his statement that, “the difference is that his daughter is a dark skinned millionaire” to mean that, even though society may, or may not appreciate black people – they tend to be a little more “understanding” when you’re a black millionaire.

Personally, I couldn’t care what color a woman is when it comes to attractiveness. She could be black as coal or white as a sheet, and I wouldn’t discriminate based on their skin color alone. As someone stated earlier, ugly and pretty comes in all colors; I agree with that statement a thousand percent.
There’s no doubt that a lot of black men (and men in general) have been brainwashed by the media for years to believe that most beautiful women are either light-skinned or white. In the United States that may very well be true because black people are still a minority (13% of the population), so obviously there are a lot less black women in the country. Therefore the chances of encountering beautiful dark-skinned sistas who resemble Tika Sumpter or Lanisha Cole (Google them if you don’t know who they are) are significantly lower.

@amatrex we don’t need the media to brainwash us. That brainwashing has been going on since slavery. We do it to each other in our own families. One family can come in so many shades of black brown and yellows yet everyone notices that the yellows are favored.
My grandmother did it to us. I’m yellow my cousin is dark we were treated differently. I had a best friend that was hella dark my grandma coudln’t stand her. Said she didn’t know why I would hang out with that ole black ugly girl. Mind you grandma was a good choco brown herself.

That's how I interpreted it based on other interviews that I've seen of him. He didn't like that fact that this person was referencing his daughter in the first place.
