Music mogul Sean Combs, 42, is featured on the Source magazine’s Feb/March 2011 cover. Normally, I wouldn’t waste your time with this, but what “Puffy” had to say about the United State’s first biracial president (that we know of) piqued my interest.
Like most Kool Aid drinkers who voted for Barack Obama because he was half black, Sean has become disillusioned with the president and his administration’s policies so far. “I love the president like most of us. [But] I just want the president to do better,” he said.
Source: What’s your assessment of President Obama thus far?
Diddy: “I love the president like most of us. I just want the president to do better. There’s a difference between us voting for somebody and us believing in somebody. He’s the person that we believed in so I pray night and day that he understands how God ordained his presidency. I feel there was a promise made to God to look after people that was less fortunate, and [many] of those people are African-American…”
Wow. That’s deep. One African American narcissist going after the throat of another narcissist in such a public manner is unprecedented. The issue hits newsstands January 25th.
Well why don’t u give the african americans some money nigga?
#justasking
its up to the people to do better not obama he doesnt have all the power
@DIDDY
RETIRE ALREADY SH!T!!!!
ok let the games begin… we all can do better but hey like puff said, do better Obama..lol and i normally never agreed with puff diggy
Obama cant change the ignorance in the streets. The same people who voted for Obama didn’t show up to vote for people that could help him stay in power and get his agenda passed. We let the republicans get back in control. Puffy said all this but where was this ninja when we needed to rock the vote for the house and congress?
Oh please, people that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. People that think Obama needs to do better, 9.99 times out of 10 need to do better themselves. Does this negro really have any room to tell anyone to do better? #satdown & #shatup
He tellin da truff so what’s the big deal?
Hello All. Well said #1. With his money and media power, Diddy could make a BIG difference in the hood. At least President Obama is trying to make a difference for all Americans, not just blacks. Its often the choices we make in life. Peace.
I’m with you Al .. he needs to have a \_
People need to understand he is the POTUS not GOD! Yes we put him into office, yet we forget so easily that it is “US” who have to do our part as the people! Everyone voted him in because he was “black” and then jumped ship when things didn’t happen over night! Just like a ninja….

Diddy has unprotected sex, do you think he knows that once a president is picked our work is not done?
People want change to happen fast, but fail to realize that drastic changes will take some time…
I mean look at New Orleans, it’s been years since Katrina hit, and they are still developing, and making progress to restore it back to 100%….
I think that “some” who voted for President Obama expected him to do all these miraculous things in his first year or two. I think “some” who voted for the President expects him to change their circumstances right now. It doesn’t work like that. It took our country 8 long years to get where it was when the President took office. P Diddy has a right to his opinion just as I do, but I totally disagree with his statement. I may not agree with all the President has done, but I think he is doing a great job, considering the situation he inherited.
and we should care about diddy’s political commentary because…..
i’m waiting sandra…..
As many of the readers said, “he can’t do it by himself”
We as a people need to do better. It is easy for P Shiddy to say some ish like that without having the weight of the world on his shoulders. And I dont ever recall hearing about him giving bak to the community- with all that money he got but I totally agree with the people in glass houses quote.
And I am not a kool-aid drinker, I am an intellectual thinker.

The majority of the voters were “first time voters”. They don’t know that there is a important follow up midterm election that needs to follow.
Ohhhhweeeeee I cannot STAND this dayum dude. EVER….He makes my azz itch and irritates my soul…all at the same TIME…
Diddy need to sit his azz down. All the black women and men that he had on his fake ass reality shows clowing themselves to MAKE THE BAND and where they at now probably working at a damn CVS somewhere. He was put in a position to help also and his track record seems shiddy at best
Diddles can do better by not being a gotdamn coon azz punk bish.
Cosign # 1, Obama bank account is nothing to compared to Diddy. While I love the honest opinion and constructive criticism, Kabeyou said it. We should still believe in our Potus he’s TRYING to do the right things. Kind of hard when the house is full of elephants because too many people thought a vote for Obama was all they had to do and everthing would change. Society and Economic problems go waaay back. Ground Zero change is needed and that calls for EVERYONE. And it begins at home. Strong Familys make strong neighborhoods, strong neighborhoods make strong communities. Strong Communities flourish.
Campaign was for change. Wish people realize it meant EVERYONE not just him.
Again, I respect Puffy’s opinion, he’s entitled to his own and applaud his honesty.
I was never a big Barack Obama fan from the beginning because I was more interested in making my life better than I was interested in making history. Barack Obama never quite dug a hole for himself by carefully choosing “buzz” words like “change” and people were looking so hard for change at the time that no one ever asked WHAT that change was and he never felt the need to explain it.
I DID, however, vote for Obama because I would rather see 10 Obama’s in the white house than ONE Sarah Palin – EVER!
At this point in the game, I feel more financially sound and can feel a resurgeance of “comfort” amongst middle class Americans than I did when Bush was in office, and since I won’t be joining the “Upper Class” no time soon (unless I hit a number) I’ll take it.
I DO have an issue with people who have absolutely NOTHING positive to say about Barack Obama, but not as much as I have a problem with the fact that certain groups of black people will NEVER have a negative critique about him. I’m in the middle, you eff up, I’m on it. You do a good job… I’m with you!
Tavis Smiley was right. We called every president out in the past 30 years, but now that he’s black, he can do NO wrong. NOTHING? Really? Al Sharpton and those guys made all the noise in the world when white presidents didn’t acknowledge the black agenda or issues that affect African Americans, and now that Obama is in the white house, suddenly, we have no issues.
We don’t think about the fact that since we aren’t asking for ANY of our needs to be addressed and we’re acting like life is wonderful for us, when the next white man, or woman gets in there, and we try to restart the, “what about us?” campaign, those same white people are going to say, “bite it, you didn’t have any issues when Obama was in office, where did they come from? You had these issues when Bush was in office, they disappeared when Obama took office, although nothing had changed, and now that he’s gone, they’re back again? Kill yourself!”
Surely, Obama could address ONE of our issues and stop trying to be in the “middle”. Acknowledge the fact that black folk came out in record numbers to get you into office. I mean, damn… wink at me and say “thanks” if you ain’t gonna say it out loud.
On the opposite end of that. I’ll be BACK in the booth in 2012 to vote for his a$$ again if Sarah Palin runs. Now SHE’s an idiot and I’ma need you to discuss that as much as you discuss Barack Obama’s narcissism, Sandra.
They still sell the source? I haven’t seen that mag on the rack in a long time…….
I wish Jhud would stop screaming on ALL of her weight watchers commercials

That dayum Carrington
always posting and making a bish all randy n whatnot
Diddy is just talkin sh*t. He wasn’t specific in any way. What exactly does he want from the President? I have no idea from that statement.
Anywho, I have been reading Dreams From My Father for a while now (it is not a page turner at all) and Barack is an activist at heart and has been one since he was a teenager really. Maybe he thought he could make a differance in politics, but that is the last place you go if you really want to change anything besides your own personal bottom line. The more I read the more I feel sorry for him being stuck in this good for nothing position.
If Diddy the forever teenaged baby maker read the book he would know that Barack has been struggling to fight for black people since he got out of college. Even when they wouldn’t help him fight he kept fighting for them and at the point where I am now in the book he had yet to stop fighting. He dedicated his life to that mission. So to hell with what Diddy has to say about this man. There is nothing Barack can do to help anyone, but big business in his current role. As long as big business doesn’t get a sh*t about the little guy the President of the United States can’t really help the little guy. Barack’s biggest impact will occur when he gets out of the White House.

What the fudge….I bet Obama helps more people on a daily basis than Sean Combs has helped in his entire life! I didn’t know he was specifically put in the office to help Black folks out. Last time I checked he was the President of the United States NOT the Un-united community of Black Americans… GTFOH with that mess Diddy.
I love this quote: “Choices not circumstances, determine your success”.
Read it, love it, live it. Stop blaming others for your misfortunes and shortcomings. That is why I am a firm supporter of randomly drug testing welfare recipients. Just this morning, I heard a report of the radio about 8 local people being arrested for welfare fraud. One person (single, no kids)made $80,000 in a year but still managed to receive the funds.
why don’t you do better with your damn artists and leave the prez out ya mouth!
This is pure hilarity. What I would like though is for people to do some real research and actually see what PRESIDENT Obama has done and that laws that was passed that actually affect us directly. The seperate meetings with black leaders and things of the like that goes on in the White House all I’m sayin is knowledge is powerful and research is your best friend. Will I be happy with every move that has been made or will be made ummmm no that will deem me as a non human however I am aware.
MORNING ALL!!!
@Carrington
Precisely which of “OUR” issues should Obama be addressing?
We’re all in the same country and up the same chit creek without a paddle. Why do WE deserve special attention? Yes WE came out to vote but if white folks etc. hadn’t voted along side of us, Barack would have never made it into office. Is he supposed to ignore all the other folks that got him elected cause he’s one of us?
And Obama is gonna need ALL those votes if he’s gonna get a second term.
Man, I just don’t care™ says:
He tellin da truff so what’s the big deal?

What did Obama promise AAs specifically that he didn’t promise every voting American?
Hell, what did he promise that any other president hasn’t promised the American people to get themselves elected period?
@His
I believe she did.
Exactly. Obama needs to be held accountable for lying to African Americans to get their votes. People need to stop making excuses for him.
Please inform exactly what lies you’re speaking on? How did he specifically exclude everyone except African Americans and what did he say? And what did he do contrary to that?
And which of “our” issues was brought to him and ignored?
Most mistakes are inadequacies of perception rather than mistakes of logic.

@Yso…just checking
gave me such a tickle..
@Fiance, I STAY on it… #belee dat
So then perhaps Diddy should do better ala kids by 3 different mothers
I dont like Obama either. I felt that him and the people was using his race in order to make history as a means to get elected. The majority of the people around my way was always talking about we finally going to have a black president but not many could explain or tell me about the issues he was talking about in order to make a difference in the world. I was one of the rare few who wanted John McCain to be president.
Yes President Obama please stop us from having babies out of wedlock, from having babies with multiple partners, and having babies we can’t afford to care for. Oh and please stop us from committing crimes and going to prison..and stop brothers from thinking it’s cool to do so. Oh and while you’re at it, Mr. President, please make black women stop paying for weaves before they pay their bills, and please stop black men from believing that becoming a rapper or athlete is more important than getting an education or holding down a 9 to 5. Mr. President, please stop black men and black women from believing that every brother who has a comprehension of the English language, is educated, holds down a job, and doesn’t have his pants sagging below his knees is a ghey. Mr. President, please save us from ourselves.

I am not listening to anything “Mr. Suck Ur Tiddy Diddy” gotta say cuz he aint gave me none of them millions he has, he aint gave me no free Sean Jean shirt or velor outfit, and I don’t like his music.
Oh yeah and Obama wasn’t named the President of Black America…Maybe instead of looking for Obama to solve all of the problems in the black community, we as a community should try to solve them ourselves..

@Carrington WRONG U clearly don’t listen to Rev Als talk show like myself Rev Al DISAGREES w/the President on some issues and has said such more than once. Tavis was sweating the Preisdent before he was President all because he didn’t come to his event. Tavis is still cool w/me but he did come off very shady he never went that hard on a President in the past IMO and I have supported and followed Tavis for years. Rev Al/Cornely/MEDyson hell even Roland Martin have all called P Obama out over issues.
Carrington, you are right on. Don’t worry about the “Obama Cheerleaders”. They went from “Yes, We Can…He Can…Change…” to “He can’t because *Insert any excuse*”.
@lil Nancy Drew you notice how your chant said “yes WE can”. He is working on putting those changes into motion. He’s doing his part. I don’t think it’s he who dropped the ball.
Carrington, I see a contradiction in your post. One statement says we aren’t asking for any of our issues, then you turn right around and state Surely he could address ONE of our issues.
Get over it.
I’m sick of hearing, “Obama’s not a magician”… Well, guess what? Neither was Bush (1 or 2) neither was Clinton, neither was Reagan… but that didn’t stop THEM from being called out, did it?
When the next president takes office, I’ll be interested in finding out how many will continue to spew the “magic” defense in support of his or her policies… *crickets*
I expect the same $hit from Obama that I expected from Bush and everybody before him… a safe country to live in, jobs and policies that positively affect me and the community I live in…
What I find interesting as hell is that most of the people who support Obama and can’t find a damn thing WRONG with any of his policies, couldn’t honestly tell you the fundamental differences between the right and the left anyway.
Everybody’s a political pundant when the reality is that most didn’t give a $hit about politics before Obama took office to begin with – now they’re all professional political observers who can break down policy.
Oh, and @ Daisy – I don’t really believe Tavis was salty because Obama didn’t attend his event, I think (and if you REALLY followed Tavis, you would have surely heard this the 20th time he said it, if not the 1st) he was upset because he felt that Barack Obama refused to deal with him because he felt that he didn’t HAVE to – why not? Because like all the Kool – Aide drinkers, he knew he had that vote sewed up REGARDLESS, so there was (and clearly still isn’t) no need to attend a rally to address the needs of the black community.
Tavis went in on politicians as a whole, on all levels of government. he went in just as hard (if not harDER on Bush) he did the same thing with Clinton, etc. He called Hillary Clinton out for feeling like she didn’t need to address US because she mistakenly believed that she had our votes sewn up too.
What REASON would Tavis Smiley have to hate on a black president, considering the fact that he’s dedicated his life and career about black folk and making us a BETTER people?
Is he jealous? He’s not even a politician… it ain’t like he’s planning a run.

@Carrington Tavis can say what he wants his whole attitude SUCKED when it came to President Obama and that was his right to do so but dont cry foul when you get called out for it. I said Tavis never went as HARD on a President in the past I stand by that esp one who wasnt even in office yet. I did not say he never called a President out before. Like I said I follow and support Tavis and have for years. I am all for calling folks on the carpet. Pres Obama has/does get blamed for stuff he didnt do and I guess that isnt going to change and he has dealt with it and will deal with it the best he can. I dont agree with President Obama on every issue OR ANY OTHER PRESIDENT for that matter. I never thought he was going to come in and walk on water I like the man that he is and some of his policies.
I still stand by YES WE CAN and YES WE DID
@VJackson YOU TOOK IT TO CHURCH!! YOU PEEV”D for that TWO SNAPS AND A POINT!!!
Auntie…..you and this Hard On for finding flaws in Obama’s Presidency astonishes me welp I guess someting will never change but I hope to see these blogs when or if Obama is out of office and we put another yt back in office then maybe the world as you like it will go back to normal.
Yeah Diddy definitely need to shut up or get like Kanye and say what he really mean. It seems his comment was sensored not really expressing his true feelings for Obama; not that what he thinks or feels matters #justsaying Diddy is on my list of people to ignore just like so many others who don’t deserve the time of day to even contemplate what they problems are. All otherwise he’s an okay dude. (no hate)
tavis needs to sit his *ss down. our prez is intelligent enough to know what “our” needs are without having to go through tavis. what we NEED to do is have some damn self-respect and go back to the core values and standards we had back in the early days when we had less rights and access than we have now. how come we accomplished more then with LESS? it’s really not that damn hard.
even with an open mind, you’ve got to be kidding me to think that a mccain/palin presidency would be preferable to this one.
Carrington says:

I agree with 95% of your comment. Obama made all kinds of promises that he knew he could not and would not keep. Sarah Palin has not made any promises (as far as I know). Furthermore, she is not currently occupying the White House and she would never be elected president anyway. So why should I waste my precious time writing about her when Obama gives me such great material to choose from?
how god ordained his presidency? wtf r u talking about? ur not politically astute, please stop pretending to be.
the system isn’t designed for Obama to help anybody. I get the impression on one hand black people thought he’d be able to do what he wanted. clearly, that’s not true.
politics is big business. stone me or whatever, but it has nothing to do with helping the people or middle class/poor people.
