It seems Sen. Barack Obama forgot he was swimming among sharks while campaigning in San Antonio Texas last night.
Maybe Obama was lulled into complacency by the fact that he has so far been treated with kid gloves by the press corps. Obama let his guard down briefly during a press conference and the sharks attacked.
“I don’t have any preliminary statement,” said Obama, telling the reporters to “just dive in.” So that’s what they did. The first question left Obama stuttering:
Tom Raum of the Associated Press led off with a question about whether an Obama aide had told Canadians not to take seriously the candidate’s public rhetoric critical of the NAFTA trade agreement. “Let me, let me, let me, let me just be absolutely clear what happened,” Obama answered, reminding them that the meeting was a “courtesy” and involved no “winks and nods.”Then an agitator—columnist Carol Marin with the Chicago Sun-Times—broke in. Marin, a visitor to the Obama entourage who accused the regulars of being too “quiet,” accused the candidate of concealing details about fundraisers Rezko had for him and a real estate transaction between the two.
“I don’t think it’s fair to suggest somehow that we’ve been trying to hide the ball on this,” Obama answered. But this only provoked a noisy back-and-forth between Marin, Sun-Times colleague Lynn Sweet and Michael Flannery from Chicago’s CBS affiliate. “How many fundraisers?… Who was there?… Disclosure of the closing documents?” READ MORE…
The pressure is on now, as the General election gets closer, the media is going to be a BEAST and everyway possible, but I hope he will handle his self well..

What does everyone think of kids being in the audience-sp? holding up signs for Hillary or Obama? And by kids I mean little kids, look like they are 8, 9, 10 yrs old. Does anyone else think that is strange?
Re: Brookiebaby0506 I honestly dont think is strange, Even though I donot have kids, I thinks its great that parents have their kids particapate in Polictical rallies, discussions etc., Its sad when some kids dont even know whats going on in the world, but they know when the new fresh jordans coming out or the new 50 cent cd song, I think its great to get the whole family involve Because as of today we have 2 great candicates that are making History!
obama should’ve better prepared to respond to issues that keep re-surfacing, especially since the resko trial start next week…he discussed his dealings w/ resko on numerous occassions and unless there is new info, there doesn’t appear to be any wrongdoing…
i bet hilary is sitting back having a field day laughing at this BS…
Re: bloggergirlz Says: I bet hilary is sitting back having a field day laughing at this BS…
LMAO, yeah she is…..
These are the missteps that the MSM were talking about regarding Obama. He has to be more prepared as we get closer to the GE. He also has to realize that people will penetrate his campaign and wreck havoc (sp?) in an effort to discredit him. I still voted for him today in Texas and God willing, I’ll vote the same in November. Let’s hope that Hillary doesn’t steal this nomination that she was so sure was a no brainer in her favor. IF that happens, then I’ll have to take McCain cause I cannot fathom the Clinton’s in the WH again causing even more mayhem. Hillary ran a poor campaign financially and I think that has a direct correlation of fixing our ecomony if elected. What is she going to do? Loan the country money from her secret stash… You know the one where she won’t release her tax returns unless she is the nominee.. When you are running for office, you lose the ability to keep your income a secret. Especially if you are campaigning as the all american, blue collar, middle class candidate.
AAAAAAWWWWWW Suckie Suckie!!! About time they stopped treating this man like he wasn’t campaigning to be the leader of the free world. Let’s see how all of his charisma works under pressure.
I guess maybe it’s just me, but a 8/9/10 yr old doesnt have a clue what Hillary and Obama are talking about. I can see getting the older kids involved, but seeing an 8 yr old at debate is just wrong. They should be out playing being kids, not worrying about what Hillary says is wrong with Obama.
I think it’s great exposure to ‘part’ of the political process to have your chillen there supporting with you. If I was a kid, I’d be mad as hell though. Michelle Obama was at my place of work on yesterday, speaking to the university students. I didn’t get to make it to hear her. I’d say it’s definitely crunch time; in other words, “IT’S ON!” So yeah, let’s see how Barack handles this kind of pressure. I think he’ll be fine.
I think it’s great to get your kids involved early, they can always have thier own opinion later. It is like taking your kids to church when they are younger. Now my kids are older and go the the church of their choice. There is always a “do as I say” when the kids r younger. When they get older we just want them to be a part of society and not a menice to it.
By next week, most of this will be forgotten. When people like an opponent, they forgive over-much. I’m not saying whether or not he should be penalized for this, it just goes to show that rarely are issues looked at by everyone voting.
@ Bsoul, I agree!
In some house hold politics is discussed regularly and the kids are knowledgable to some degree. If its discussed properly I see nothing wrong with it. The decisions that are made effects kids just as well as adults.
Barack needs to be better prepared but even still the pressure will always be upon him.
I feels some kind of way about Hillary and this mandatory universal health care for every american. She says that its suppose to be affordable but I feel this is not going to be the case. Some people are already robbing Peter to pay Paul and just can’t afford the health care plans offered by there employer. Don’t get me wrong I think the idea is great but, is it really possible. We all know things look good on paper or to have ideas thrown out at a round table discussion but, until its tested and retested it just a brillant idea. If we were ever able to get health care companies and pharmaceutial companies out of bed with the government universial coverage just may be achievable.
