Missy Elliott released her new music video for “Throw it Back”, off her new album Iconology. The 48-year-old rapper/producer/songwriter described the album as “a collection of songs” in an Instagram post announcing the new project on Thursday.

“This year has been a tremendous year for me,” she wrote in the caption. “I am humbled and grateful. THANK YOU for allowing me to smell the roses. You, my fans, and God are the reason I am here and have celebrated every milestone with me! So, I have a SURPRISE for you… let’s continue the celebration at midnight tonight…I’m dropping a collection of new songs!”

Missy, who is the recipient of MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, is recognized for her catalogue of hits including “Get Ur Freak On,” “I Can’t Stand The Rain,” and “Lose Control.”

Missy will be presented the Vanguard Award for lifetime achievement at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 26.

MTV chose to keep Jackson’s name on the award despite the backlash from a HBO documentary in which Jackson’s former friends accused him of misconduct.
