CBS is taking a huge gamble on a Chuck Lorre sitcom titled Bob Hearts Abishola, which explores the cultural differences between Africans and American Blacks. The show focuses on a relationship between a middle aged businessman and a no-nonsense nurse from Africa.
Billy Gardell (former lead of Mike & Molly) stars as Bob, while Transparent star Folake Olowofoyeku plays cardiac nurse Abishola who tickles Bob’s fancy.
In the series premiere, Bob, who owns a pressure stocking company, is rushed to the emergency room after suffering a heart attack. When he awakens, he spots Abishola and immediately begins to flirt with her.
“Do people call you Abby?” he asks her. “No! Go back and wash your hands,” she responds.
But Abishola really piques Bob’s interest when she sings to him in her native Nigerian language.
Abishola is a single mom (her husband returned to Lagos after he was unable to find a job as a civil engineer in America).
She and her son Dele (Travis Wolfe Jr.) currently live with her relatives Auntie Olu (Shola Adewusi) and Uncle Tunde (Barry Shabaka Henley), who provide comic relief.
Abishola’s relatives and friends don’t take kindly to Bob – and they certainly can’t see him married to Abishola.
One friend Kemi (Gina Yashere) explains, “Top of the list, Nigerian man — same tribe (Yoruba). Then, Nigerian man — different tribe (Igbo). Then, other Africans (except Tunisians and Egyptians). Obviously. Then Caribbean. Then white. Then African American.”
Of course American Blacks are at the bottom of the totem pole.
Another friend named Gloria (the wonderful character actress Vernee Watson) takes offense to the disrespect Africans show American Blacks.
CBS hopes Black Americans will tune in anyway.
I’m going to take “I’ll pass” for $2,000 Alex.

So it’s a show with a mostly African cast that makes fun of African Americans?
To whom is this show supposed to appeal?
CBS(whom I last worked for last year) is VERY good at casting MOSTLY chocolate actors….
I don’t even know what channel cbs on …. I be streaming so damn much …. I only watch amc and FX …. No thanks but if I see it on my guide then maybe …. highly doubt it though
Chile …. this ….
Nope
Another show denegrading the so called black man role in society, family in america while pushing the only form of interraical dating etc acceptable in society when it comes to black/white ppl..
https://media0.giphy.com/media/WYiIPUcAWc1hu/giphy.gif
Say it again…….
She’s looking at him like “cracker, please”.
?
Nope. I don’t even want to watch trailer after reading the description. I hate when other black cultures look down on Black Americans. Like congratulations, you’re delusional! That’s nonsense to a racist. You’re no better or worse they’d wish we all give up our identities, wish we didn’t exist or could be tucked away in furthest corner of earth if they had their way. Why promote fighting or looking down on each other. ?
I’ll watch.
Nope they can have that – representation is so important I’m sure the Nigerians are going to tune in and show out ?????
https://media0.giphy.com/media/9G2OSJEk2YM8g/giphy.gif
I watch the Neighborhood at 7pm. 7pm Monday is tough because 911 is on at 7pm against the Neighborhood. I’ll have to see them on digital (Youtube?) or wherever they are online.
Black Americans perpetuate the worst. Black Americans represent 13% of the population but commit over 50% of crimes in America.
Over 70% of American Black kids grow up without fathers in the home. The facts are there Black Americans are at the bottom.
Also, They think they’re clever using Black Agricans to put down Black Americans. Bish please! White people stay trying to push a hidden agenda that’s obvious as hell.
I’ll watch because I’ve seen enough bemales swirling in movies videos hip-hop videos…Black women need to swirl just as much as bemales do!
No offense blog owner but other people of African descent try to push African Americans down while stealing our flow. I know that they look down upon my people so I only watch their 3 hour movies. I don’t fellowship with them because eventual they will turn on you!
I love Billy gardell so I will give this show 1 chance based on him.
Black American men degrade themselves by contributing to the incarceration rate and leaving their children fatherless.
??!! Bemales out there swirling like cats chasing mice. Bemales running to do everything but marry the black mothers of their kids you need to come again with your mythology.
But I bet you just love Kanye though ??
They sure do.
That tends to happen to any group systematically oppressed…
That could never happen because Africans are automatically in competition with afro Americans. Veronica Webb was treated like a child while niomi Campbell made it a point to be nice to the white/ non American people.
Africans consider African Americans like children. So, I applaud this show for being honest.
Young sheldon blackish 911 and that show with autism dr. I’m good. I do dig both nollywood and Bollywood movies though…
Actually, the movie moreso spoke of Black Americans and Black people around the world being lost in civilizations that don’t value them or give them same opportunities afforded to others. The “villian” had to fight his way through to break barriers already broken for others. Hence the ending of the movie and Black Panther and his sister offering to help.
Im good luv enjoy…?
they do? lol they see Africans Americans as inferior not children but someone told me Africans are jealous which is dumb because we are all black.
If their culture is so strong they shouldve stayed in their own country
Did they get this storyline from 90 Day fiance- akiyli ( sp?) and bejamin.
I’ll watch it if non of my reality shows aint on at the same time. I like Kevin James.
I know several black women married to African men. Now, I can’t speak on the marriage, but they’ve been married a long time. I think African (men) Look for professional African American women (doctors, researchers, nurses, etc.) I know one thing, with the shortage of Black men in American, black women who want to marry should explore African men and Caribbean men. You won’t find a LOT of homosexuals in that group.
Oh lord. Let’s look up Nigerias stats..??
Ef em.
Okay then I guess the Black writer for the film was wrong about what he wrote and directed because he gave the reason for Killmonger’s angry outlook which was justified and made it clear his anger made his point no less true. At the end of day he grew up in a world he was the outcast, underdog and unwanted. Meanwhile there was a thriving black civilization that could’ve helped him and other blacks all over the world. That was the point of the story. If you’re prospering do what you can to help your brothers and sisters out that dont have an out.
And some Mexicans are jealous of those African roots… especially when they wanna be “DOWN”.
Loved this movie … Robinhood men in tights loololol throwback!!!
In Chicago, there are plenty of black women with white men….don’t blame them. I used to work for the universities and when researching the ratio of black women on campus to black men, it’s pitiful. Black women go to and graduate college in far greater numbers. https://www.theroot.com/black-women-now-the-most-educated-group-in-us-1790855540
As an advisor I’ve seen black women sweat through college paying immense amounts to get that degree.
i despise the tension between the africans and afro americans. its one thing that gets my blood boiling.
mexicans and salvadorians notoriously dont get along either
true but they are notorious cheaters and womanizers
Here you go
You would think these new shows would be more relatable. They reaching with this one smh
Who isn’t? Look at AB and some of the rappers.
So there with white men because they couldn’t find a college educated black man? In your opinion
There is no tension. I live in a building crawling with Africans. They speak to you when spoken to. But like everybody else, when they need HELP, they will go to an African American, because WE GOT THE 411. I’m helping a neighbor with exercise. We team up to go walking. She’s African and she asked me to get her started.
Arresting a 6 yr old Eh??
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.orlandosentinel.com/news/crime/os-ne-child-arrests-prompt-response-outrage-20190923-q7jghgig3ngtblxcl4aeou5evy-story.html%3foutputType=amp
yeeeeaaaa but africans and afro carribeans have a different type of cheating and womanizing lol
And when you need help see if they will be there for you.. speaking as an ex wife of a Kenyan they dont see us the same
I say BS. Do you know how many LatinX intermarry and date? Jlo is Puerto Rican and Arod is Dominican (born in the US). There are a lot of Puerto Ricans married to Philipinos, a lot of Mexicans married to Guatemalans. There’s a lot intermarrying.
A fact. I have 2 cousins who are professionals, highly educated. Both of them are with white men. Their mom doesn’t understand it, but I tell her — there’s not a large pool of “educated” professional black men. Where do you go to find the good ones? Maybe the gym? One thing I can say. Both men are college educated and making BIG money with tech companies.
How Africans view Black Americans
??????????????????????????
https://youtu.be/FrNmxv81vkQ?t=2230
Just because a man has a higher education doesn’t make him a good husband lol if your search rules out plumbers, electricians, truck drivers etc then wouldn’t you be purposely shrinking your dating pool?
That’s funny. I always tell my friends when they meet a women with a lot of degrees to be careful cause she more then likely has enormous amounts of debt lol I guess it’s all how you look at it
i want there NOT to be tension but there is. Anybody with eyes can see that and africans feel they are superior to black americans but ride and imitate our afro american culture.
I will be watching for sure. Real africans with no accents and with their full names spelled out and on billboards? Yes ill be there!!!
Preach it. and everytime you call an african out on their BS and prejudice toward black americans they deny it tooth and nail.
Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world!
Over 80 million live on less than $1.89 a day.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8b6698877b2f3ed69f80b01d1b0490129fbc012cea9ba39c4d915acf2f15fa68.png
and promotes interracial dating between blks and whites further tearing the blk family structure apart.
love you my African brothers and sisters.F!ck white supremacy!!!!
Racist azz CBS!!!!1
How so?
It’s not Kevin James. This guy was on the show with Melissa McCarthy (“Mike and Molly”).
They go as far in Chicago, when we take the yellow or red cabs “I hope you have de cash!” But don’t ask white folks NONE of that. Just be cheesing all in their faces. Pisses me off!!
Mexicans and Ecuadorians also.
They’re with white women or “others”. I don’t agree with interracial relationships though. Education shouldn’t be an automatic deal breaker, but that’s solely my opinion.
Right. I think intercultural should definitely be considered over interracial.
I saw the trailer and every black character on there had an accent.
Can you see why there’s tension?? Look at the above comment. I hear lot of negative comments directed at Africans. That aggression is misdirected.
All I know is this, AFRICANS, KENYANS, NIGERIANS,EGYPTIONS and many more from the continent of Africa,(not all of them) but most do not care for African Americans, and I would pose the question as to WHY? … Rhetorical,…… but African Americans are the Israelites, when we were in Africa they sold us into slavery to the white man, to each other, and to other races, I wont get deep, but I will say this, when we as a people get to the point of understanding the LAST WILL BE FIRST. and this is just one to grow on, it really did not have anything to do with the T.V. show, I just felt like sharing….. And don’t @ me unless you have something of substance to add to this comment..
Really why don’t they explore giving American blacks fucking Reparations… Can CBS and racist colorstruck Hollywood go and Fuck Off ASAP
I wouldn’t go that far lol but if she a school teacher with 3 degrees be very very careful. I know dudes that were debt free and got married to a “professional” women and didn’t find out they over a hundred thousand dollars in debt until after the marriage smh and
Ados
I love it my bestie is from ghana so i grew up around the african accent im so glad its no longer somzthing to be ashamed of. I watch straight off the boat and the asians on there have thick accents and its accepted im happy my african people are too.
ADOS, Foundational Blacks … Reconstruction Republicans. give us our Check for the Culture you destroyed and have the nerve to put show on give us some Bullshit ass comparison.
ADOS don’t need the people at CBS in our cultural business unless they are working to get that Reparations Check Cut.
Unfortunately, I have to say it rings somewhat true, a director that ran a department where I work, Kenyan, highly successful, consistently had a weirdness towards African Americans and only promoted non African Americans.
Well said!
Here is the thing, unless you have spent time in that persons shoes, how can you look down on a man…….All you know is what you see from the outside, you have not one inkling of what or who a person is…You see what the masses want you to see, and what they want you to hear. Instead of judging take the time to get to know that crack head, homeless, misguided individual. Even with all of that and the person turns out to be as you say ” A waste of life” at the end of the day you still are not better than that crack head, in the big scheme of things…
Why on God’s green earth would black people want to watch this? It has nothing do with us. I hope they can get Africans to watch but probably not because she’s with a fat white guy. Who pitched, wrote and produced this dumb azz show with NO target audience.
Oh ok. I like him too. Welp, i don’t think I’m going to watch anything tonight. I have a cold and i just want to sleep now.
Our men don’t marry us nor take care of their children.
One of my ex’s from college was Nigerian. And during grad school I dated a couple Nigerians. I had good experiences for the most part. But anyway, definitely won’t be watching this tired ass show. Next
I’m not shooting the messenger, what you said is from your peridium. I see plenty in AFRICA that is disgusting, but I am not any better than they are, I just know who I am and I also know the LAST WILL BE FIRST, so keep the mind set you have, what you eat don’t fill me up….
I guess I’d be that 1% then lol.
In society’s eyes, we are better than a crackhead. We all make decisions and the crackhead made bad decisions. He or she is not a responsible citizen. They are drug addicted often harmful people who live a desperate and dire life. They bring pain to their loved ones especially their children. They’re the trash of our society.
Im scrolling down the comments and i cant see one african person dissing black people but i count 4 people so far talking sh!t. But theyre the one who hates us right? Theyre the one calling us african booty scratchers and nappy right? I would hate your @s$ too if you spoke to me like that. Trashy af
Speak that truth! ?? We are the chosen ones! I dated an African dude (Eritrean) in college and he couldn’t stand Black American men and women. Mind you I’m Black American (Light skinned but still Black ??) I remember being so puzzled by his disdain. Like he really was bothered by our Black people’s behavior, mannerisms just mere existence. It’s was truly odd to me. I never realized how Africans and Caribbean folks look down on Black Americans. I was like you really act like all Black Africans on the whole continent of African got their shit together! Gtfoh! Needless to say the relationship didn’t last long! Lol
You are correct…and what people don’t understand is that when a Black American is in a relationship with an African…they are in an interracial relationship because the cultures are very, very different. As far as the cheating goes women in Africa accept their men cheating as “normal.’ It doesn’t ruffle their feathers one bit. These men are also used to having more than one wife. So what we call “cheating” they see as “normal and their right.” This is one reason why black countries i.e. African countries, Caribbean have the least rights for women of all the countries in the world. A man beats a woman’s azz…well, too bad she deserved it because she tried to put voodoo on him…you know, some sh*t like that…LOL
Damn speak………..
There are a lot of broke mofos with college degrees
Those electricians, plumbers, etc. Pull in good bank
Since we’re doing sweeping generalizations, ignoring systemic factors, and geopolitical issues, and just exaggerating…
Over 15% of (Nigerians) Africans, THREE times the global average btw, use opiods. Pill pop much? Less than 10% of the sub-Saharan African population have degrees. But, I thought they valued education? Nevertheless, the higher caste Africans come to America and benefit from the progress and policies that the “lazy” culture-less Black Americans created to further their educations and socioeconomic status. Coincidentally, these higher caste African’s are often direct descendants of the Africans that sold our (ADOS) ancestors into slavery. Speaking of culture, it’s funny how African’s claim we have no culture, but the minute they step off the raft they imitate everything from our dialect, colloquialisms, style of dress, to our music. Oh, and they say N word routinely.
Black Americans often wonder how Africans can proclaim to have abundant levels of pride and love for themselves, yet they are the number one global consumer of bleaching cream. They would literally rather risk cancer and looking like a transparent pasty abomination, than to have dark skin. They value family, yet they leave their wives at home fighting flies and hunger and come to America or England and marry fat white bitches for green cards. Then once they get the green card, the endeavor to create other schemes and continue to cheat on their wives with American/English women (and men). https://media0.giphy.com/media/1wnohynNUXuVQLIopj/giphy.gif
Exactly
Hell no!!!
“Of course American Blacks are at the bottom of the totem pole.”
The same American Blacks who come to your site?
Lol, is that all Africans?
True in SOCIETY’S eyes…. But the fact is we have not clue what happen to that individual to make them turn to drugs, am I excusing the behavior no I am not. And I don’t do drugs, Well I will get my drink on after work but I have made all of the right choices when it comes to education, property, saving money, and investing, that took trial and error but does that maker Me, (AND I CAN’T SPEAK FOR SOMEONE ELSE) better than the crack head or drug addict on the street corner begging for a hand up. NO it does not. We need to open our eyes and see the big picture. When I was homeless for almost 2 years sleeping in my car in INDIANAPOLIAS I met a lot of those same people, and they were good people, things just happened, and many times I would leave the conversation and think like wow that could easily be me…. Most people are BROKEN, from many things family, society and the list can go on. All I want us to do is just to put ourselves in someone else shoes for a moment….
So what are they saying that it doesn’t matter if the guy is overweight and unattractive along as he is white he’s good enough
Facts
No ma’am it’s called intercultural, not interracial. AA and Africans are both the black race. Huge difference!
Lol…
No ma’am you sound like you were born to African parents. Stop perpetuating the rumor that all Africans dislike African Americans.
Yep let me skip my happy self right up outta here..lol https://media1.giphy.com/media/rDDv72OIYB39K/giphy.gif
A lot of them like other races have disdain for us, because they know who we are, the sad part about it is a lot of us don’t know who we are…. Hell even Adolf Hitler knew” Hitler said, “because the white Jews knows that the N*****s are the real children of Israel and to keep Americas secret the Jews will blackmail America. The will extort America, their plan for world domination won’t work if the N*****s know who they were. The white citizens of America will be terrified to know that all this time they’ve been mistreating and discriminating and lynching the children of Israel. They will fear God will destroy them as he destroyed Egypt for doing the same thing. So the Elite, the Illuminati keeps this a secret at all cost. After I die I will one day cause World War 3 just by this message which will be like planting a seed in a people minds until it sprouts once they nurture that seed and seek more truth and learn Hitler was right. I did the world a favor by killing the false Jews before they designated a false state of Israel. But I fear I have failed. The world will fall into the hands of Satan.”
Oom Fufu and Jack Benny can have at it!!
I’ll pass
If the creators and producers dump the laugh track, I’ll give it a shot. Otherwise, forget it. Don’t you dare imply that I’m not smart enough to know where to laugh!
But the last will be first……….
I really don’t have anything to add to this discussion except that I refer to myself as Black and not African American. I hear of no other race that refer to themselves as Chinese American, Panamanian American, Croatian American and so on. I’m Black and I live in America. That’s it.
DAMN. you went all the way in………
Wow white guy looks like lonnie from the real olé man. A white man that white women dont even want.
Thats okay white folks aint got time to ask what u label yourself. By the time u finish your tirade they gonna call u the nword n keep it moving.
I wish someone would call me the N word. If I detest my very own Black people saying it I’ll be damn if I let a White person say it to me. And they best to keep it moving because if caught it’s no telling what will happen.
If you’re really woke then you would think differently. I say that because “ black “ just like “white” was a label given to us by white man to distinguish us from them and you’re actually wrong, practically every other race is identified by origin or geographical location or heritage but white and black label. Now why do you think that is so ? No other race on the face of the earth is identified as a color but whites and Blacks which was established during slavery, but I digress.
And your point is?
Not in my book….! Race is associated with biology, whereas ethnicity is associated with culture, In both ways, Black Americans are different from Africans..IMHO…so we can agree to disagree.
Please white folks r smart. They dont verbally call u the nword but they treat u like the nword.
I didn’t realize I was asleep. As you mentioned “origin” is the important word. My origin is America by way of parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all born in America and not Africa. African American was started by Jesse Jackson and before that we were Blacks, Coloreds, Negroes and before you know it we’ll be stuck with another label, but I digress as well.
To be honest I’ve been treated worse by my own kind. At least with Whites I know what to expect.
Why is that? Do you think it might have something to do with their DNA, afterall everybody knows that African men have a different set of DNA to that of AA..Amazing.
I’ll pass
The anger in this comment is astounding. Generalizations are not cute.
There’s a reason why Sandra posted this writeup and imo she knows that some of her readers will lap up this divisive rhetoric. Sad really.
Why isnt nobody talking bout the guy who played corey on when they see us won an emmy. The crowd went crazy n the exonerated 5 were also there. Oops talking bout billy porter is more important.
Tell me about it…
I was so HAPPY when he won because he played the hell out of that role! Didn’t know he was just 21 years old! He has a bright future! ?
They should of given her a comedy show by herself.
OT… Peter Thomas’, Cynthia of RHOA former husband bar in North Carolina just got shut down because he owes over 250k in taxes! Where do these housewives find these men who are bad with finances, back taxes, multiple baby mamas, just bad business..I want to know what social spots they’re meeting these men so I can stay far far away…
So glad Cynthia dumped him before she lost everything ..smh
Nope https://media3.giphy.com/media/l0MYICK7vFjhxwxhK/giphy.gif
I gave the show a shot. I watched after the Neighborhood love that show. Anyway really couldn’t get into it. Didnt have that wow factor that keeps me interested in a show. It was very boring and lackluster. But im about to watch All Rise. I like Simone from Luke Cage so hope her show does well.
Bitch shut up
https://media3.giphy.com/media/BQAk13taTaKYw/giphy.gif
If they do they’re no better than americans who think africans are flea bitten savages.
Because there is a generation of black women who are unmarried and aren’t desirable for marriage because they’ve spent their time getting college degrees and following the strong and independent message. The show is trying to create and exploit the market of the point of no return feminist and single women who chose wrong. The show isn’t for young women who have a chance to succeed.
It’s hard pass for me, dawg.
Next.
We managed to survive living next door to our opressors for hundreds of years. Our own government (the most powerful government in the world) has done everything in its power to keep us down. They kill our leaders, burn down our businesses and homes, terrorize beat maim sic dogs firehoses redline deny capital. And still we rise. No one else can claim that. Black Americans ain’t perfect but the average black American is doing FAR better than the average African.
Africans are in control of their own destiny and own the most natural resources in the planet and what have they accomplished? Abject poverty. Slavery in 2019. Famine. The spirit of greed and envy run rampant and the super rich care nothing for the poor. Nothing but a bunch of sell outs. They spend ostentatious amounts to buy up foreign real estate sending all their resources abroad and send their kids to foreign schools and abandon their people. Africans don’t even like Africans. They view white as a prize the they biggest self haters on the planet. They need to clean their own filthy porches before they dare to even look our way.
Kinda sad, actually. It’s gonna take him forever to pay off that much in taxes. And Peter ain’t no spring chicken either. Dude might be 75-80 years old before he pays that all off.
?? ??
Set it to the DVR. Bold show. Hope it makes a couple of seasons. People will talk about it like All in the Family.
Wow. You went straight for the jugular with that one, huh??
Then stay tf in Africa then nobody asked you to come here, best believe no americans visiting Africa and acting disrespectful to the natives. Stop acting like Africans innocent victims in all this they call us all kinds of akatas
culturless and ghetto.
They painted africans (wakandanians) as indifferent cowards. Which was accurate.
I didn’t know what I know now, so I’ll pass. Originally I was going to give it a chance, but I’ve changed my mind since reading the blog, and also stopfoolingurself’s video. Thanks for the info guys.
white ppl wont watch this and they are who cbs needs to make happy. it will be cancelled
Yup she’s Mexicans are low low in the northeast. I’m not sure where else but here the other Hispanics talk crazy about Mexicans
I didn’t say that. I said Mexicans don’t really hang with carribean Hispanics in the northeast that’s all.. if they do its always brought up.
? I thought he was already 75-80…?
There is a difference between ethnicity, nationality, and race.
All I’m saying is that you are quick to denounce African American and that’s fine , it’s your prerogative to do so , but you claim “ Black” which was a term used and give by by White slave owners. So you claim a white terminology, but denounce a truth of African American which is factual , we originated and ancestors are from Africa, in fact all of us are ( topic for another day ) born in America. Go with whatever makes you happy, but don’t be so quick to denounce the truth. Black was given by white man.
And technically outside of what white man labeled, Black is not any of the three.
?
So right!!
Call yourself what you want. Don’t let someone tell you what to prefer. I also prefer the term “black” because I feel like it doesn’t erase my other bloodlines. And its nobody’s business to know when they ask “what are you?” (dumbest question ever btw) so do you, girl!!
When I fill out forms now, in the “race” column, I check “other” and write “human race.” Race was started by the whites for seniority reasons, so I refuse to check a box that’s systematically placing me in a “labeled box.”
People should check out this white lady name Jane Elliot. Shes a white woman who have been threatened by whites for speaking the truth about “race”. Wait until she gets to the part about “why” y’all president was really voted in. Lol! She ticked some people off by speaking the truth so blatantly.
Chuck is trying to do his version of a modern family and black-ish shows combined. I will check it out one day!
I’m sure they’re mostly using white writers, so I don’t expect it to be too funny! Someone like Dave Chappell in the writing room, I would eagerly watch!
The show Mike and Molly did well with its black characters “buddy” storylines, but a rom-com of this nature isn’t easy to pull off!
Great concept. Kemi’s breakdown is correct in that Africans are least keen on and not into relationships with either white or black Americans. Africans take great pride in marrying Africans. Africans are also critical of descendants of slaves. I recall years ago back in college there was an African girl on campus who was very braggadocious about her bloodline not having slaves.
They steady trying to push Africans down black people throat. It wont happen. We love our own culture. Develop afrobeat out before you come after black television
You hit the nail on the head there??
?
Lol
You are welcome, but what you said is how many feel, and I’m sure before I said what I said, that could have very well been your outlook. However I am glad we can dialog, and break certain barriers from both sides. Be good my friend. And the saying is actually what you F***, don’t make me cum, you can actually use either of the two…
Not a fan of his by any means, and yes I am an Israelite, so there goes that. However if you read up on him, you can learn why, knowledge is power, he did not care for us either, but he knew that If we knew who we were, we would take back the real ISREAL which is our rightful place. And we will but it begins with learning and knowing your history, and my people still are not ready. And for your questions I am not avoiding them, but instead of taking it from me, do some research, I am just teaching people how to fish, I am not here to provide the fish, bait, pole, worm, and elbow grease. And yes we have been for ages specifically targeted and exterminated, by the white man….
Facts , clear evidence of that is the diamond trades and Debeers. The wealthiest continent in terms of jewels/ diamonds and it’s owned by the damn British is mind boggling when you think about it.
Talk to em ??
agree it’s sad
I see that my email didn’t even rate an ” up yours ” for a response. Fine. Your sponsors are next.
But to be fair we had a conversation last week st a joining table of othet races and there is internal hate within the Hispanic Latino communities also , especially when it comes to skin tones at times as a Cuban was describing. The same with Italians , I remember an episode of the Sopranos where Tony I believe spoke about how certain Italians looked down on them due to geographic/ class etc .
My point is that our community is not the only one with this issue. Either way I agree with you , it’s very sad to see the tension considering that we both are from the motherland.
Right !!! I was just mentioning this earlier. Over 20 of us were having this conversation at brunch , strangers just speaking realspill that would have made for a great podcast.
Facts and well said . It’s funny you mentioned , because this is exactly what Samuel Jackson did in calling out Jordan Peele, because all of his most recent horror films have not featured any ADOS .
Rather he did it doe to cheap pay / wages is unknown , but it’s funny to hear black male married to a white woman speak on the importance of Making Black films, but not featuring any ADOS / African Americans , especially considering the fact that Nollywood wouldn’t probably blink twice at casting an ADOS . But I agree with you , I’m tired of the hate and would love to see a progressive film that had a healthy balance of both.
I’m a film student and was contemplating a Rom Com / coming of age centered around the subject.
Heard she hated on Tyra Banks heavy also.
I wouldn’t say never , just because there was a history and stigma doesn’t mean that everyone carries that ignorance, but I hear you , it’s definitely an issue , but times are changing,
the Black experience monolithic and thankfully many new millennials are progressive , woke , and are blurring the line of Ignorance that plagued our elders.
Reading the comments section is so depressing…if you pluck an Apple from a tree in Africa and ship it to America does it stop being an apple? Does it now become an orange or a banana? No folks. Its still an apple. African and African American may have different cultural experiences but let’s not forget we are still ONE people. Can we stop with all the hate! And divisiveness and one group thinking they are better than the other! Don’t be fooled by the narrative the media is trying to feed you. Like it or not, we are one people so get over yourselves. I’d much rather be having a conversation about how we can empower each other to be bosses in Africa and America…no matter where we are!
Never watched that show
Trust me they love white
Yup
More specifically fake joos & british. Funny the same thieves who conspired to steal Palestine. The usual suspects.
Well said!!
Ah…Once again, White liberal Hollywood and their divisive agenda. I rarely watch television because I can’t stand their need to broadcast their liberal agendas.
What purpose does this show have except to expose division between ADOS and Africans as well as just any Black person from any other country that is not America?
Racist White liberals love to pit Non-ADOS Blacks against ADOS. They love to make it seem as if people who fled from countries where they are the faces of their government, have the solution to the Black Condition in America, when they didn’t even have it in their own countries…..
They also keep peddling the lie that American Blacks are Africans, when in fact the ancestors were just sold on the West Coast of Africa by people who looked like them but WERE NOT THEIR PEOPLE…..Where did those who eventually ended up being sold flee from?
So do white people..it is strange, isn’t it?
Say that!!!!!
Nobody talks about what they are told when they get to America about ADOS…they are in fact told to steer clear of us because we are criminals and trouble-makers. Also keep in mind that if you come from a country where if you openly criticize the govt/president you can either end up disappeared or dead, it’s not likely you are going to emigrate to another country and make waves OR associate yourselves with people you perceive as or are explicitly told are ‘trouble’. The problem is the source is both our enemies and most of these people are just trying to come up & haven’t bothered to question the source. And it’s obvious a lot of us don’t either. Classic divide & conquer tactics. The ultimate irony is that 9 times out of 10, the US and the West–the very countries they are clamoring to get into–are likely the VERY reason there is internal chaos and constant war going on in their home countries.
What I will also say after having lived in Africa is that it is my opinion that most of the Africans who emigrate to the US/West are not representative of those left behind. Even those being rescued on boats trying to get into Europe. You have to have some money to get that far. Especially, those coming all the way from Africa who have made their way to the Mexican border. Most come with some $/access and they are not the average poverty-stricken ones living on $1 or less a day you find still on the continent.
I don’t concern myself with white relationships
actually, “they” don’t. the very top of the list is a Nigerian from the same tribe. historically only really poor women/prostitutes married white men. it’s still stigmatized to this day, don’t be fooled by the instagram posts.
And DRC is the RICHEST country (based on it’s natural resources) of ANY country on the planet YET they are #3. Wonder why that is? Who keeps sh!! going there ALL the damn time so they can steal the resources out the back door?
The N word was created and started by White Germans for Jewish people and later used by Whites for Blacks. The term Black we created at a time when we were proud to be called Black with afros, daishikis (sic), fist in the air until Jesse Jackson changed the trajectory of how Blacks should be categorized in America. So, you see the word Colored, Negroes and the N/word was used to separate and identify who was who in America for Whites and the US Census beginning in the 1920s. Also, labeling a person as an entire continent is ignorant as they come. There is no other race labeled Oceania American, snd so on. If I may suggest to you Proquest database is an excellent resource for factual information written by scholars, researchers and professors alike that can be used in debates. I write facts, not Google search.
The whole african vs AA thing just fatigues me. As a young and naive college student, I gravitated towards AA because in my head we were the same. They were the ones that took it upon themselves to call my food stinky, laugh at my hair and all that crazy stuff. Luckily I was brought up to remain true to myself so I continued to cook my stinky food (and enjoy it), and no amount of peer pressure will make me spend 10 hours in front of the mirror to make my hair look like what it’s not. I still joined a sorority and I love my sorors and continue to nurture those relationships. It boils down to who the person is and if you have enough in common to remain friends, not just being friends with everyone cuz they’re black. I hope this show isn’t disrespectful to AA and I wish non-blacks would stay out of our business. No one is respecting any black person globally until Africa gets their shit together anyways…
Love you’re so lost and missing my point black was not invented during slavery , the word black existed long before slavery , it’s a color. The point was not to point out when it wad invented but instead it was used divisively to separate social class and ADOS from white slave owners. They used that to divide our community from them. White men has always been scared and threatened by us because they have an inferior gene and literally every scientist has concluded that Caucasian’s are the result of inbreed Albino experiments. There ancestors pure Neanderthals are extinct , they actually favored Monkeys more and these are facts , you can research it. Back to my point , my point is that white man used Whites and Blacks for their motives , which is why no other race , nationality , or ethnicity identifies as a damn color. So for you to dismiss the African American description, but co-sign what white man labeled you to fit there agenda isn’t becoming . Again identify what you please , I’m just educating you on factual history that wasn’t taught most history books.
No disrespect to you , because my intention isn’t to shame or look down , I made a statement and backed it up.
Why do we as a people aka black folks (Africans AND African Americans alike…yes i said it!) love focusing on what divides us instead of trying to figure out how we can work together? Here’s an example: There are millions of indians in Africa… (Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania, Namibia etc), some who emigrated to the continent as far back as the 1800’s and have never been to india. But you know what’s amazing? When people of Indian descent get together (and I have witnessed this on several occasions), it doesn’t matter if they grew up in Mumbai, Montreal, Nairobi, Palo Alto, Lesotho or London, they tend to identify as one race, despite their vast cultural differences AND they stick together AND they get shit done!!! All I’m saying is: can’t we all just get along and leave the DNA debates and good hair conversations and colorism BS at the door? What’s the point? We are stronger together. Maybe one day we as a people (regardless of what label you chose to identify as and where on the plant your find yourself) will figure this out. At the end of the day, we spend way too much energy on topics that do nothing to advance us. Let’s change the conversation….and shift perspectives. OK I’m out.
As a Caribbean black in England we were referred to as sons and daughters of slaves by Africans.
You can think we’re all one all you want.. get to dating and marrying them you will soon realize that we are not. You will be looked down upon, your relationship will mean nothing to them & good luck if you dont know their language u will be talked about as well. If you are not from their tribe or any tribe you can forget it. They are very clannish it doesn’t matter which country they are from either. Get a private detective to make sure you are not being used or lied to their whole family will lie for them to achieve whatever their needs are.
I’m sorry they said this to you. We should never let anyone’s opinion of you, define who you you are. Keep being awesome and ignore the haters.
Why did you come and leave this kind of comment? Wetin dey worry you? You’re a disgrace to Africans. While I don’t subscribe to anyone saying anyone is taking their jobs, Africans benefit from a lot of things that were put in place to help AAs recover from the way they were treated. I’m a firm believer that those scholarships should specifically go to AAs because the average African international student comes from some privilege. Clearly, those of you that come from less than ideal backgrounds still come to America, enjoy the privileges meant for AAs, do immigration marriage and still have the nerve to call AAs a waste of life. You’re a d*mn loser.
No disrespect to you as I can appreciate opposing views. But in any event, I think you are misinformed because Black was never used during slavery it was the term Colored and the N-word that was used during that time and we shouldn’t dismiss as it is important for this discussion. As for educating me, I am not enlightened nor have I changed my point of view about the term African American. So,again, I stand by my previous statements.
yea b/c i would rather hear about the first day of trial for amber guyger killing botham jean in Tx
We really aren’t the same, I had an African Dr cry in my office because she had to choose African American as her race to get her ID card. Then she went into a whole speech about how that offends her culture I told her to take it up with The DOD who created the application or don’t work for the govt.
Amen!
Ditto!
Nah that’s them lmao
In total agreement ?
No body said we were the same…even twins born on the same day, from the same womb are not the same (trust me, I am a twin)…but just because one brother likes afro pop and listens to Davido while another brother likes R&B and listens to Maxwell, doesn’t mean we don’t come from the same family. Small minds focus on why we are different. Great minds focus on the strength in our diversity.
Sometimes I check “other” as well. These labels!!!
Exactly! I do not like my Ghana sister-in-law food!
I saw the trailer for this and it didn’t move me to want to watch.
She said that ish to your face?
Wow
Bye. And enjoy your roots
Tell her to go back home. Africa needs her. Anyone who can’t come in and be respectful of the situation should go back home. You want america dollars but you think AAs are beneath you. The audacity.
I’m officially stressed out.
I feel you !! Too much hate and he said she said in here
I’ve noticed Africans having more in common with Biracial and Multiracial Americans because they share experiences of being discriminated against by African Americans.
Vernee Watson-Johnson!
I love me some Viola Smith, Althea and Aunt Stella
I’m concerned this will turn into a war even among our children. It’s ok to be different but respectful.
But at the end of the day I am a Pan Africanist.
To be honest even among Africans there’s still so much division and hate. This is a black people problem generally, and that’s why the black race is finding it almost impossible to be great.
Great comment but what I stated goes a bit deeper than Africa.
With her white husband sitting next to her, either rotate here or don’t it’s really that simple I explained. I’m 100% certain I can fill that spot. She checked AA and went on about her business, even greets me in the hall.
I don’t see how that’s a reason to cry. I don’t only know tribes and I’m proudly Nigerian. She was being intolerant.
I agree 100%. At the core this is a black problem period.
I watched 10 minutes of it. It was aiight. I don’t know if it will survive going up against The Voice and 911 and Dancing with the Stars.
It was borderline offensive to be honest, even my Jewish boss thought so. I would never tell her to go back to her country because my job is more important to me than hers is to me. But the tone in which she was talking to me one because Dr’s tend to do that and its not the first time an African tried me with the culture explanation as to why they are better than American blacks.
Ok, D9 sorority!
Nonsense
True
James Brown said it best: “Say it Loud, I’m Black and I’m Proud”. I was a small child when that song came out, but hence the Afro, Soul, and Black pride was born.
I’m thinking out loud here but sometimes I wonder…if Africa was a country and she was a first world super power like the US or Wakanda lol, would those of us who are “members of the Diaspora” in America, the Caribbean, Europe etc be so quick to distance themselves or dare i say be “ashamed” of Africa? I don’t know.
I think that often, but that would have only been possible if the country was left in tact.
Yep, same here. I recall my parents playing that song all too vividly. They were proud Blacks and still are.
Not all “black” folks are African Americans though. That’s my point.
I’m glad some people around here have open minds. Refreshing! #wearenotthesamebutwehavecommonroots. One luv
Africans, Biracials, and Multiracials all express feeling outside of or not accepted by African Americans. They express being accepted by African Americans is conditional based on changing their identities from African or Biracial or Multiracial and calling themselves black or African American and adapting to black or African American cultural definitions. This is not nonsense.
This is true.
We aren’t the same…..Have you ever been around a bunch of Africans regardless of where they dwell and hear them speak THEIR languages? Guess what BLACK AMERICANS are so NOT in that conversation and they make it a point to exclude BLACK AMERICANS…
Africans as well as Blacks from other nations TAKE TAKE TAKE from America based on what OUR ADOS ELDERS & ANCESTORS fought for….They have nothing to GIVE to BLACK AMERICANS which is why they come to AMERICA….They are then used against Black Americans in many cases.
I got love for my brothers an sisters(blacks) in america but I could give a damn bout a african and Im sure they feel the same way about me
I just feel like this is an “African Immigrant” story but somehow the jokes will cross the line and be racist and then Black Americans will have to come to the rescue and defense of this nonsense.
We will have to use our political capital for a stupid show that no one will watch. I really wish Black Americans could sit this one out given the jokes are already offensive to Black Americans
BTW. on the joke about who they marry, I am pretty sure Black Americans have Africans at the bottom of their list too. Its unfortunate but its true.
Wouldn’t watch it with my worst enemy’s eyes!!
Ditto!! Actually moved me to “not” watch.
Nonsense. AA had no choice in accepting Biracials from the beginning. They were the children of rape by massa and rejected.
At this point in time we are all hated because we are brown in the United States…All of us come from families who have/had bias against races that spilled over to us…This is the divide and conquer tactic that whites instill in US from childhood…WE were taken against our will !! WE did not have a choice!! I’d be damned if I think Im better or more than someone who can trace their heritage back from the same soil my ancestors came from…Now if they feel the some type of way about AA people thats fine but thats not me…
911 is a great show!
True story! One Nigerian told my son, ” You have single handed changed my negative views of American men!” ?
That is awesome! Its all about friendship and compassion for one another. I love my African brothers and sisters….just pass the jollof rice, pounded yam…stew…plantains…benachin…rice and peas…everything! LOL. People need to learn to change their environment as well. We can’t be judged based upon what other people do.
Not going to even go into the cultural differences between American blacks and Africans. The trailer for the show just didn’t interest me in the least. A middle-aged, heavy set, white man falls for his no-nonsense African nurse. Boring. Reading the above blurb about how African’s view Blacks as actual dialog from the show only reinforces that this is something that I don’t want to waste my time on.
The writers for the show consist of 3, THREE, white men and ONE woman of color (Nigerian by way of England). Huh???
https://media3.giphy.com/media/Lo630eg2YYv8Lngrvg/giphy.gif
This is so true, which makes it more sad. My parents were born in Haiti and I grew up in the mid to late 80’s where Haitians were lumped in with Africans as being the source of HIV and other cruel jokes. The only reason no one could tell my family were Haitian was because of our wavy hair which they ridiculously deemed “confusing”. I went to predominately black private Catholic School by the hood, which was a dump because of the conditions and location. Anyhow, once the kids found out I was Haitian, they slowly stopped talking to me and some even commented that they were surprised I was even Haitian! Since then I was bullied constantly by the African Americans and many of the Caribbean kids as well. It was such a miserable school experience and for MANY years I walked in shame of my culture because of it!! That’s how bad the bullying was. I thought because we were all of color, we have love for one another. It was a shock!
Africans seldom display emotions in front of outsiders.. if you’re not seriously dating or married you wouldn’t know how they really feel about you.. .probably too busy smiling in your face scheming
No, I actually posed a rhetorical question, at the beginning of my thread , and I said I will not go into detail I even shared of an individual, that could not stomach us words on it. There in lies the issue, better yet If you want to keep something from Black men, and women, put it in a book, most won’t take the time to research, learn for themselves. I will not eloborate to anyone that can’t take the time to research, how much of that will they retain? it’s not helping them. And I’m not being disrespectful. The point of my very first comment was to awaken curiosity, with in self…
And I know it sounds like generalizing but I can only speak from my experiences and of those that i know have experienced it as well
I just think you have to wonder the purpose of this show. Its really not going to interest the ADOS community. Are the Non ADOS blacks that interested about an immigrant woman getting seduced by an unattractive overweight white man. Doesnt she have a husband anyway? Cant wait for the episode when her husband comes back to get his family and she has to kick him to the curb for her new beau
LOL@ the BTW! It’s sad to admit but you’re probably right
Cot dayum! Brutal honesty at its finest ????
I’m so sorry you had such an experience and I believe you 100%. My Nigerian friends who were born in the US or moved to the US when they were really young say the same thing and some of them are neither here or there with their sense of identity. One of the reasons I want my kids to go to school abroad. I don’t know if a 7-15 year old should be dealing with all of that. It makes one wonder though, since children are innocent, who is teaching them all this? And are those people that same ones complaining about how other blacks treat AAs? How will this cycle ever stop?
It’ll be cancelled.
many cultures have african inspired dishes that doesnt make them the same. its only when it comes to black americans that we arent allowed to have our own culture.
Ok, let me say it this way. My sexual orientation is a cross that I bear or sin I will say. A heterosexual also carries a cross or sin, and let me just say before I continue we sin mutiple times a day, and daily known, and unknown sometimes most of the time we repeat those sins. We as THE MOST HIGH people are under Grace, and Mercey, not law. So to answer your question I am under Grace, not law. Does it give us a free for all, no it does not. But I have been building a relationship with THE MOST HIGH, ever since I tried to commet suicide at the age of 12, because I did not know why I felt different than other little boys, why did I not act like my dad, my uncles, cousins, why was I different. I remember taking 2 bottles of prescription pills, and after awhile lying on the floor crying I just felt really sleepy. I heard God say to me keep running my race, it will all turn out the way I said it would. I knew you before I formed the earth, so I knew what you would be and do keep running your race. The next thing I knew I was waking up in the hospital. I did not want to get that deep, but I did want to answer your question.
Thank you for your kind words! I tell you the journey to accepting and LOVING my identity was a very LONG one. It took a lot of therapy. It’s so unfortunate that our Black community is in such state. I agree with you, children that age should not have to deal with such things. I often wonder myself, who do the children learn this from as well. WOW, exactly!! That’s what was so confusing to me and still is. The same people bullying were and still are complaining about how blacks treat AAs!! I find it to be mind boggling. Exactly, when will the cycle stop?
This is such a shameful generalization. Sounds like you need to expand your horizons.
Your welcome.
We have a lot more power than we utilize, to make changes to everything we disagree with.
First, we need to learn how to stop throwing each other under the bus and allowing ourselves to be used, against one another, to bring our own down.
lmaoo
but its them that think they are better and its disgusting and the way we are spoken down to. however, i will say that i think black americans started this mess with making fun of africans when they came over here and calling them african booty scratcher etc because I have african friends and most of them thought that when they came here we would all get along.
lol it could be but I think its more cultural. Dna wise they aren’t too different..maybe a little.
So you telling me in 2019 Africans still at the mercy of Europeans 1000s of miles away? There’s only a billion people in Africa. Leaders SOLD OUT the continent that’s the ONLY reason they don’t own it. And not just to whites the Chinese eating well off the continent now too. Greed jealousy envy and tribalism are the only reasons Africa is the way it is. Africa is the RICHEST continent in earth. Ados never had access to that level of capital.
I always find it funny that when talking about Africa, Africans have a million and one excuses but never give ados the same consideration.
We don’t need no tv show made by white people for white people on the top white network. Stop falling for their tricks. What we need is education. Education to understand each other. You can become a citizen of this country without knowing about the contributions of black people. African or ados history isn’t necessary to survive in life and most only learn what they need to survive.
it seems like american black men, hell american men in general at least really TRY to have some sort of moral compass and try not to cheat and lie to their women. seems like even after they have some type of guilt. but the carribeans and africans have this air of just straight up deceitfulness and screw everything in sight. different apartments for the other women etc/…its just taken to a new level.
Never said it was used specifically during slave trades , but it terminology used and derived by whites/ white slave owners , this is a fact. Our ancestors did not bad together to use it and even those that did only did so because it was the opposite of what those krackas ( ignorant whites ) called their race at the time. At the end of the day it was terminology used and given by white folks, so you go ahead and continue to use that ignorant rhetoric that whit folks embedded you to believe.
Lol. I’m from South Africa. This was meant to be sarcastic.
oh. haha.
America is a superpower because of all that free (slave) labor.
As a British born Nigerian in England, I was called all sorts of names because of being Nigerian. The sad thing is, it was never a white person calling me those names, it was always a black person of Caribbean descent.
I’m British with Nigerian parents. I am the first to say that Nigerian people can be very pompous, so I think that is what this show is trying to reflect. I don’t it’s trying to be divisive. It’s sort of like poking fun at the culture of Nigerian people and their attitude.
I get it from both sides. I have an African name, so I’m automatically a foreigner in the country I was born and then in Nigeria, they think I don’t have any culture.
I think we all need to just respect each other a bit more and try to understand our differences.
False. Stop giving others credit for our culture! Different foods. You’re forcing the Africa stuff to work.
Nigeria is a third world country. The United States is not so what’s your excuse Black America. Y’all were born in the land of opportunity. There is no excuse for Black Americans bad behavior being born and raised in the US.
A solution is teaching young Black girls the importance of choosing a good mate o have children with.
Black Americans are not oppressed you were born in the United States. Y’all have it a lot easier than Non-American Blacks.
Having fathers in the home makes a huge differences for American Black children lives. The oppression card is an excuse.
LOL!! I was just wondering what could be gained from insulting your target market. I know from experience many Africans love to talk ish about AAs out of jealousy (for whatever reason) but how often do we talk about them? Almost never. Would love to do an interview with a few to get an idea of what fuels their obsession/resentment of us.
Beautiful ? I remember one time someone told me they were in a group of Africans and uttered, ”After all,
we have to stick together with our own kind!” The other Africans went silent & one said, ”You American blacks are not African!” That person said they then realized! ?????
I understand what your saying but Nigerians might not want that type of representation on television in America because that is not going to work on American television with African Americans. That attitude that they are better. Especially when blacks who immigrate into the country of the United States .. claim to love this and that culture so much then come to America to capitalize off of what American blacks fought and died for and then try to say negative things about them. I don’t think telling American blacks they are beneath anybody is going to work.
America is falling now because she does not produce nothing slavery is over the white man is and has always been lazy the only way usa makes money is by starting wars and selling drugs by letting it come in the country and tax the king pins to low level drug dealers these 2 are that whore usa cash cows
Sorry to hear that. I grew up in Brooklyn back in the day. I remember how Haitians were poorly treated. It was a lot of negative propaganda being being put out about the Haitian people. Unfortunately a lot of our people fed into it.
Well said. i like your posts
Peter is an OG hustler, lol He”lol find an investor or a way to open another spot in another state.
Most of these people are white washed , speaking sense into them is a lost cause . Most are the same people that are upset with H&M for using a black innocent girl with her natural hair in a natural state.
Not everyone is American bro. This is the world wide web. Read about it. And I don’t care what your point is. I didn’t ask you.
I don’t think the point of the comedy is to put black Americans down. I think it might be more to poke fun at the Nigerian way of thinking. Gina Yashere is the comedian who writes for this show. She’s British Nigerian too, she has been on the comedy scene for over 20 years. A lot of her stand up comedy is based on making fun of the Nigerian culture and the pompous attitude.
I only have the time and energy to defend my group. Everyone else is on their own.
They are separating themselves to highlight that they are NOT #ADOS. This is NOT an attempt to open dialogue. They are want it understood, that they are not #ADOS.
Im tired of groups putting #ADOS down to lift themselves up.
Why on Earth would I watch a show where a Nigerian female and three white writers crap on #ADOS. Not only am I not going to watch this show, I’m cancelling my CBS All Access.
I refuse to support a network who is blatanly disrespectful to my group, while perpetuating divison amongst people of color.
Good point but if it’s not putting black Americans up then what is it doing? And that not just for that show because I haven’t seen it as I would love to hear her perspective if sis is as deep as you say. Do we need more comedies of Hollywood BS or of fantasy interpretations.
I really don’t want to hear about a Nigerian attitude 200yrs late. no more than I want to hear from African American who hates being African and their preference is anything the color of paste.
Why don’t they make a show about black people getting reparations. Nigerians that sold blacks to America giving a cut of that oil money that robbed our ancestors of… it’s nothing funny about kidnapping a group of people and having a colonizer try to kill off everything about them that makes them African. Then have an African come over 300yrs later with a attitude like I am better. They let that black panther shit go to their heads. How is that funny oh yeah and she is in a interracial relationship just for some extra sauce.
I grew up in Brooklyn as well. It was an awful time. Yes, I agree with you, unfortunately a lot of people did feed into it.
Why is Nigeria a third world country?
I’m really trying to understand what your issue is… because this happens every day. Black men fall for white women, white men fall for black women from all walks of the planet. This is not a phenomenon. What exactly is your issue here? https://media2.giphy.com/media/CDJo4EgHwbaPS/giphy.gif
Clearly you didn’t read my post. Whom someone dates and or marries is not my concern. I will never support ANYTHING that makes jokes with the intention of degrading the #ADOS people. PERIOD!
Lol. I read your post. What is so derogatory about this upcoming show, especially when a Nigerian-UK woman is one of the writers in it? I watched the trailer and didn’t see anything to be outraged about. A white American man likes a hard working beautiful Nigerian woman, and it didn’t look like he approached her with any kind of disrespect. Why are you so offended?
Same apple tree that sold black people to whites. Shut the hell up if you sell the apples off your tree and they go and plant other trees we ain’t apples if the same tree anymore we got new trees
But it exist without Africa financial assistance and even Africans talk shit about who black people are. Period. Black people are good. Africans dont like africa that’s why they in america.
*yawn*
Black American culture is fatherless homes!
we do have a problem with fatherless homes but we have plenty of other positive areas to our culture. i’ve seen your comments you are a racist and jealous of blacks you cant stay away from this site. you also have a mental illness. be gone.
