T.I.’s daughter, Deyjah Harris, unfollowed her father on social media after he caught flack for his old fashioned comments about her virginity.
In a since-deleted podcast interview, the 39-year-old rap mogul said he accompanied the teenager to her gynecologist appointments to make sure she was still a virgin.
Deyjah, 18, is pictured below with her half sisters Heiress, 3, and Zonnique, 23.
T.I. described a typical gynecologist visit with his daughter to check her hyman to make sure it was still intact.
“So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk. And the doctor is maintaining a high level of professionalism. ‘Well you know sir, in order to share information…’ I say ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn’t want me to know? Okay. See doc, ain’t no problem.’”
His comments sparked controversy from the public and other celebrities who chastised the rapper for invading his child’s privacy.
According to insiders, T.I. was only joking and he begged the podcast’s hosts to remove the interview.
Podcast hosts Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham complied by removing the interview and apologizing for making light of the situation. Mandi and Moham said they were caught completely off guard by the public outrage over what was supposed to be a joke.
“It was a joke that spiraled out of control,” said an insider with knowledge of the situation. The insider said T.I. was advised to say nothing about the incident so the scandal would die down on its own.
But Deyjah got the ball rolling again by unfollowing her daddy on social media. Some say the move implies she is mad at T.I. for putting her business in the streets in the first place – even if he was just joking.
