The public is outraged over social media images of an inmate savoring a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich in his jail cell – while everyone else stands in long lines and risks bodily injury or death to buy the coveted sandwich.
According to London’s Dailymail.com, the photos were posted by a FACEBOOK user named Frank Gutta and shared across Twitter and other social platforms.
The images show the inmate enjoying the spicy chicken sandwich while sitting on his bunk in a 6×8 jail cell.
The images are captioned: “TRYING TO SEE WHAT ALL THE HYPE ABOUT” and “THANKS BAE”.
The hate was thick on social media, as Twitter users expressed their outraged. “N****s in jail ate the Popeyes chicken sandwich before me IM SICK,” wrote one hungry user.
Another user tweeted: “Bruh gotta be busting down a female guard.”
But not everyone was mad at the lucky inmate. One Twitter user was happy for the guy.
“Was gonna say this Popeye’s sandwich is getting out of hand but the happiness I felt for dude getting that sandwich outweighs it all.”
Popeyes franchise restaurants have become crime scenes as hungry consumers brawl and try to kill each other for the coveted sandwiches.
One 28-year-old man was stabbed to death and social media users uploaded videos showing fights and other violent incidents inside and outside the restaurants. But Popeyes was unbothered.
According to Fox News, the corporation asked its customers to “show some patience and love each other as much as it loves the restaurant.”
