Marc Lamont Hill is recuperating after suffering a mild heart attack and blood clots in his lungs.
The author, professor, and TV personality suffered a mild heart attack following surgery on his achilles on Friday.
Hill, who is fully vaccinated, was rushed to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia when he suffered a heart attack.
Hill was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his leg, which caused a pulmonary embolism to travel to his lung, preventing blood flow to his heart.
“The doctors told me that I was VERY lucky not to have died,” wrote Hill, who teaches media studies and urban education at Temple University.
He took to Twitter to update his followers on his medical condition.
“After my successful Achilles surgery on Friday, I was rushed to the ER on Saturday after suffering a mild heart attack. Over the previous two weeks, I had DVT (deep vein thrombosis), which was caused by my Achilles rupture. This is an extremely common outcome for such injuries.”

Because of the DVT, I suffered a pulmonary embolism and severe clotting on my lungs. I am VERY fortunate to be alive. I am grateful to the team at @TempleHealth for identifying the problem and removing the clots.

My body is worn out and sore but I couldn’t feel more grateful to be alive and on the path to full recovery. Please listen to your bodies. If something feels off, GO TO THE DOCTOR. Don’t worry about seeming like a pain or a hypochondriac. JUST GO.

Hill also dismissed “anti-vaxers” who blamed his blood clots on the vaccines.
“I’m seeing videos and tweets from anti-vaxers saying that I developed blood clots from the vaccine. This is ridiculous and completely baseless. For some, it is a cynical and dishonest claim. For others, it’s a lack of understanding of how medicine and science work.”

I had a bone spur removed in 2019 and developed DVT. I knew something was off after a couple of days so I went to the emergency room. Luckily they caught it in time and started me on Xarelto. I’m sorry to hear you had a heart attack. I hope you feel better soon!

Glad you are fine now, Marc. Important you got DVT diagnosed early. My dad has it, and he didn’t know for a while and could have died. Be safe

Really happy you’re feeling better dude. I don’t agree with what you say but I’m happy you’re feeling well. I just wanna point out though you said you were rushed to the ER and thankfully they were able to help. Goes against the left narrative that ERs are too overrun by covid.

You must've had great health insurance! If not, you'd be dead.

@marclamonthill Your an idiot!! You just got blot clots out of no where?? Perfectly normal to get blot clots to that extreme level!! You got lucky and you still pushing others to get vaxed. What a dumb ass!!
