Fairfax, Virginia police have named 35-year-old Anthony Eugene Robinson of Washington, D.C., as the alleged shopping cart serial killer.
The announcement was made at an afternoon press conference on Friday, after four bodies of women were found discarded in wooded areas around Fairfax.
Police say Robinson met his victims on dating apps. He reportedly used Target shopping carts to transport the bodies of his female victims to his favorite dumping ground after killing them.

“We’re here today to talk about a serial killer — and that is a phrase that I’ve used sparingly in my three decades in this profession,” said Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis.
Police found the most recent body on December 15. She was identified as Cheyenne Brown, 29. Harrisonburg Police reported two missing women were found dead on Nov. 23. They were identified as 54-year-old Allene Elizabeth “Beth” Redmon and 39-year-old Tonita Lorice Smith.
One other female victim is unidentified.
“The reason why we’re not waiting to share this information — waiting until we get positive 100% DNA or dental verification — is because we believe that there may be other victims in the area and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. And we need to act now,” Davis said.

Fairfax County police are asking women to be diligent and mindful of their surroundings, as they suspect a serial killer is at large in the area.
WJLA reports a possible serial killer is stalking women in Virginia. Four bodies have been found in isolated areas of Fairfax County since August.
The bodies of four women, ages 35 – 54, have been found in the Commonwealth since August, police say.
Police said the most recent body was found Wednesday in a wooded area near the 2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue. The remains were in a container near a Target shopping cart, police said.
A photo of the Target shopping cart was released to the public Friday. The shopping cart was located in a wooded area in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County.
Chief Kevin Davis, Harrisonburg Police Chief Kelley Warner and Maj. Ed O’Carroll of the Major Crimes Unit will hold a press conference to release more details at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Anthony Robinson, 35, of Washington DC was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two felony counts of concealing, transporting or altering a dead body in the homicides of two women in November, WJLA reported.
Robinson was already in jail without bond when the most recent body was found this week.
