Amara La Negra is a first time mom at age 31. The Miami native gave birth to premature twin girls in March.
The Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star, born Diana Danelys De Los Santos, left the hospital over the weekend without her babies.
In a video livestreamd on Instagram, the bilingual reality TV star explained in English and Spanish that she was pumping breast milk for her twin girls before leaving the hospital without them.
Amara fought back tears as she explained that her twins have to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit for a few more days.
The singer, dancer and actress announced her pregnancy in November. She and Allan Mueses welcomed their twins on March 23, 2022.
“No matter what My Mommy and Daddy Love Us! And That’s The Only Thing That Matters,” Amara wrote in an Instagram post.
In a PEOPLE digital cover story, Amara revealed she will be raising her twins as a single mother.
She was raised by her single mom, who immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic.
“I will be a single mother. I know my babies will depend on me. Father is not the one who makes the child but the one who raises it. In time, if God grants me the blessing of finding the right man, one who supports me, who accepts me with my children, then Amen, he will be well received. But I feel blessed, and I am so happy that I sometimes forget that (I’ll be a single mom). I’m more focused on my babies.”
Despite her message, Amara knows that a father is crucial in a girl’s early development.
According to Hello Beautiful, Allen was in the delivery room with Amara when their twins were born.
