Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said Cash Out used his celebrity status to lure women off Instagram and into a life of prostitution.
“The most troubling aspect of this case is that women have been victimized and brutalized within our community by people who had a chance to do something else with their lives,” Willis said.
“He’s a very talented musical performer. Unfortunately, he didn’t stay in that business, and he branched off to the business that finds him under indictment,” Willis said.
Cash Out also faces charges of keeping a place of prostitution at a home on Alfred Avenue NW and beating a woman with a belt.
“He’s accused … of whipping a young lady who’s a sex worker, and this was one of the girls that he had recruited,” Fulton County deputy district attorney Earnell Winfrey told Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne.
Winfrey said 2 women have been rescued so far.
“We’ve rescued two so far. Some of these women are our most vulnerable women and he lured them in, let them believe that he cared about them and that he would take care of them, only to flip the script and then began to pimp them out,” Winfrey said.
“He’s facing a 25-to-life crime,” Winfrey said.
Willis warned young women on social media to beware of rappers flashing cash and empty promises.
“We want parents and family members to be aware because one thing that we realize is not just Cash Out, but a lot of people are recruiting young women through social media,” Willis said.
Cash Out is best known for his only hit single “Cashin’ Out”, from his 2012 mixtape It’s My Time. The song peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, number 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and number 1 on the Billboard Rap Songs chart.
In 2019, Cash Out appeared as himself in the movie Uncut Gems starring Adam Sandler and Lakeith Stanfield.
