Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, Ca. home on Thursday. She was 54.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother Priscilla Presley confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.
Lisa Marie was found “unresponsive” and “not breathing” by her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who performed CPR on her before she was transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
Lisa Marie was pronounced dead after arriving at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in “full cardiac arrest.”
Priscilla asked fans to keep her daughter in their prayers earlier Thursday. “My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care,” she said in a statement. “Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”
Lisa Marie died 2 days after attending the Golden Globes Awards with her mother. They were there to support actor Austin Butler who won a Globe for his portrayal of Elvis in Baz Luhrmann‘s biopic of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, “Elvis.”
Lisa Marie was married and divorced 4 times. She was married to Danny Keough from 1988 to 1994. She and Keough had a son named Benjamin who passed away in 2020 and a daughter, actress Riley Keough.
Lisa Marie was also married to the King of Pop Michael Jackson (pictured) from 1994 to 1996. She wed actor Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004 and Michael Lockwood from 2006 to 2016. She and Lockwood shared twin girls named Harper and Finley.
Elvis’s ex-wife, Linda Thompson, asked for prayers for Lisa Marie on Instagram: “I am fervently praying for someone I have always held so near & dear to my heart @lisampresley. Please join me in sending out your best thoughts, love, prayers, and well wishes for a full and speedy recovery for her. Thank you.”
Lisa Marie had a history of cocaine and alcohol addictions.
