Paris Hilton is a first-time mom. The 41-year-old socialite and Hilton Hotel heiress welcomed a son with husband Carter Reum, via a surrogate, PEOPLE reports.
“It’s always been my dream to be a mother and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,” she told PEOPLE exclusively. “We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”
Hilton posted a close up photo of her newborn son’s hand on Instagram Tuesday.
In an interview with PEOPLE in December, Hilton discussed the couple’s plan to have a baby after they tied the knot late last year.
She said they began the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) process during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. Hilton has “tons” of eggs in storage for future babies.
“We started going and doing [IVF] like a few months in because the world was shut down,” she told PEOPLE. “We knew we wanted to start a family, and I was like, ‘This is perfect timing. Usually, I’m on a plane 250 days out of the year, and let’s just get all of the eggs stocked and ready,’ and we have tons of them just waiting.”
Hilton posted videos from their fairy tale wedding on Instagram. She captioned one video:
“This past year with you as husband and wife has been a magical whirlwind. No matter how far we travel and no matter where in the world we are, as long as we are together, I’m at home with you.”
