A couple who stole $9,000 worth of allergy medicine from 2 Atlanta-area Publix stores are in custody.
Jose Antonio Cruz, 31, and Tabitha Katurhia Weaver, 37, were wanted by police for grabbing all of the allergy medications off shelves in the pharmacy area of a Publix store at 4850 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville, Ga. on March 26.
They pulled a similar theft at a Publix store at 911 Duluth Highway in Lawrenceville on April 18.
Police say Cruz and Weaver stole $4,000 worth of medicine from one Publix and $5,000 worth from the second store.
Surveillance video shows the pair spent about three minutes in an aisle filling up grey bins with dozens of boxes of allergy medicine before leaving the store.
Cruz was arrested by the Gwinnett County Police and Sheriff’s Office. He’s being held without bond.
Weaver was arrested by Sandy Springs Police. She is awaiting extradition from Fulton County Jail to Gwinnett County.
They are each charged with felony shoplifting and theft of more than $900.
