A DoorDash driver was terminated after he cursed at a customer who gave him a $5 tip for a $20 pizza.
The exchange between the DoorDash driver and TikToker Lacey Purcival was captured on her Ring doorbell camera. She posted the video on her TikTok account @ladybug3660.
The video has been viewed over 220,000 times as of Wednesday. The DoorDash driver was fired on Monday after the video went viral.
In the video, the DoorDash driver delivered the pizza to Lacey and complained about his $5 tip in the app.
As he stepped off the porch, he told Lacey, “I just wanna say it’s a nice house for a 5 dollar tip.”
“You’re welcome,” Lacey shouted as he walked away.
“F*ck you,” he responded.
The video clip cuts away to a scene from the film “Home Alone” where a character says, “Keep the change, you filthy animal.”

The driver’s behavior is an example of a phenomenon called “Tip creep” that’s becoming a problem in America.
Delivery drivers who are sometimes paid $3 per delivery are increasingly harassing customers for bigger tips.
Lacey’s 25% tip for a $20 pizza is considered generous. But delivery drivers are demanding 30% or more in tips.
“Tipping is out of control. 5 on 20 is more than enough,” said one TikTok user.
Another person who works as a waiter wrote: “I’d be more than happy with $5 on $20.”
