Elon Musk (left) is threatening to file a lawsuit accusing Mark Zuckerberg of “willful and unlawful” theft of Twitter’s intellectual property.

On Wednesday, Zuckerberg launched his new “Twitter killer” app called Threads. The app looks very similar to Twitter.

Musk fired off a letter to Zuckerberg that reads in part:

“Based on recent reports regarding your recently launched “Threads” app, Twitter has serious concerns that Meta Platforms (Meta”) has engaged in systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.”

Zuckerberg boasted that Threads launched with 5 million new users. That number surged to over 25 million users by Thursday afternoon. Most of the new users came over from Facebook and Instagram, which are both owned by Zuckerberg.

An Instagram account is required to register a new account on Threads.
