Comedian Tracy Morgan said he gained 40 pounds after learning to “out-eat” the weight-loss drug Ozempic.
Tracy, 55, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where the two briefly discussed his physique.
“You look good, bud,” Fallon said. “You look great. How you staying in shape these days?”
“Well, that’s Ozempic,” Morgan said, referring to the injection favored by celebrities for weight-loss.
“I’ve learned to out-eat Ozempic. I out-ate Ozempic. I’ve gained 40 pounds,” Morgan said.
“I’ve never heard of anyone gaining 40,” Fallon said jokingly.
Tracey replied, “I’m like Magic Johnson. I gained 40 pounds.”
Tracy is pictured with his daughter, Maven, in August 2021.
The father-of-four star didn’t specify whether he stopped taking Ozempic.
A study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Therapeutics in April 2022 found that a majority of people who take semaglutide gain most of the weight back within a year of stopping the medication.
Semaglutide is sold under the brand names Ozempic and Rybelsus for the longterm treatment of type 2 diabetes.
The FDA approved Semaglutide under the brand name Wegovy for weight loss.
