NBA star Anthony Edwards scored points with social media users by filing for paternity of a baby girl.

The Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard fathered the child with Instagram influencer Ayesha Howard. She announced her daughter’s birth on Instagram in a post dated Oct. 22.

Ayesha didn’t have to file for a paternity test. Anthony got to the courthouse before she did.

He petitioned a Georgia court for a paternity test and child support in September — before the child was born.

In addition to her newborn daughter, Ayesha shares a young son named Jason with rapper Lil Baby.

Page Six reported that Anthony filed to take a paternity test to determine whether or not he fathered her child.

“If genetic testing shows that the petitioner is the father, the petitioner requests an order establishing the minor child’s paternity,” read the court documents obtained by Page Six.

Page Six reports that a status conference is scheduled in a Georgia court for Nov. 13.

Women on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) praised Anthony for taking the first step to provide for his child.

NBA players are usually forced to take responsibility for their children.

Shannon also shares a son named Krue with Chicago drill rapper Chief Keef. Both Chief Keef and Lil Baby are among Anthony’s favorite rappers. He also listens to rappers Drake, Kodak Black and Kendrick Lamar.
