Tyrese Gibson’s ex-wife Samantha Lee asked a judge to hold him in contempt and lock him up for failing to pay her legal bills.
In her latest motion, Samantha said Tyrese failed to pay $492,651.99 in legal fees – and now her lawyers want him held in contempt and thrown in jail.
According to TMZ, Tyrese has failed to pay her law firms, including The Gleklen Law Firm and Bloom Lines Alexander.
Tyrese’s legal debt is nearly $500,000 – and he has no plans to pay it any time soon.
Both law firms asked the judge to toss the “Sweet Lady” singer in jail for 20 days.
In April, Samantha told a judge Tyrese still owed her $111,000 in back child support for their 6-year-old daughter, Soraya.
Samantha was awarded primary custody of Soraya in 2023. Tyrese was ordered to pay Samantha $10,690 a month. But he failed to make any payments and he was jailed last year until he paid up.
In her motion to dismiss, filed on April 14, Samantha opposed Tyrese’s motion requesting to lower his monthly payments.
Tyrese and Samantha were married in 2017 and moved into a $4 million mansion in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta. They divorced in 2020.
In 2023, Samantha admitted she may have been too hasty to divorce the R&B crooner. She mistakenly believed she would walk away from the marriage with bags of cash.
