Sha’Carri Richardson opened up about her domestic abuse arrest at SeaTac Airport in Washington state on July 27.

The Olympic gold medalist, 25, is seen on airport surveillance video shoving boyfriend Christian Coleman multiple times, screaming at him, and throwing headphones at him during a dispute.

Port of Seattle police swarmed the area and, after speaking with the couple, they took Richardson into custody for being the aggressor.

“Richardson advised she did not assault him in anyway,” police wrote in the incident report, “and the dispute was only a verbal argument.”

She was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree domestic violence assault and booked into jail where she spent 18 hours before being released on July 28.

Coleman, 29, declined to press charges against her. But SeaTac Airport is pressing charges since she assaulted a traveler on airport property.

In a video message on her Instagram Story on Monday, Richardson said she never runs away from her demons.

In her word salad message, Richardson implied that she intends to seek anger management therapy for her ongoing emotional issues in relationships.

“Hey y’all. it’s Sha’Carri,” she said. “And, more than anything, definitely a lot of self-reflection, a lot of understanding of not only putting myself in a compromising situation with somebody that I have a deep care and appreciation for is really something that, holding myself accountable. I see myself – I’m taking this time to not only see myself but get myself a certain level of help that overall is gonna reflect who I truly am in my heart and my spirit, and not allowing this moment, but accepting this moment to be more.”

She added: “And so, my only thing is, I wanna be more… not only just for myself, for my family, for my fans. I’m really appreciating y’all supporting me and showing up and even holding me accountable… to being my best self. So, more than anything, I refuse to run away – but not refuse to run – but I refuse to run away. But face everything that comes to me head on because everything on the other side is greater. But you’ve gotta go through in order to get there.”

She concluded: “So, I’m Sha’Carri, y’all. I appreciate y’all. And one love, much love… Y’all be blessed.”
