Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s former girlfriend Ariiela La Langosta was shot and killed in New York on Sunday.

Police found her unresponsive in the disabled car on the shoulder of the Cross County Parkway in Mount Vernon, New York.

Westchester County Police said Langosta’s death is considered suspicious. They added she “may have been targeted for violence.”

6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, shared photos of Langosta and remembered her as a “tremendous woman” in a post on social media.

“There is no heart more beautiful. Rest in peace, Ariiela Lalangosta,” he wrote.

According to some reports, Langosta was killed in a drive-by shooting. Shots were fired at her car as she returned home from a night out. The gunman was reportedly aiming at her boyfriend sitting beside her.

On Saturday night, La Langosta shared several videos on her Instagram Story that showed her partying at Ikon New York in Manhattan. According to social media reports, she worked there as a waitress.

Ikon New York paid tribute to her in an Instagram post:

“Today we lost our shining star Ariiela Lalangosta. Our hearts are broken. Your joy, your humility, and the way you treated everyone with so much care always made you stand out. Thank you for giving so much love and support to our home, which also became yours. To Ariela’s family, we are here for anything you need. We still can’t believe it… you were our smile, our happiness. We love you and we will miss you forever.”

Langosta, a bartender and influencer, worked in several nightclubs in New York City. She is survived by a daughter and son.
