Shilo Sanders was hit with another setback after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him on Monday to trim their roster to 53 players.

Shilo, 25, received the bad news a day after he was ejected from Tampa Bay’s third preseason game for punching a Buffalo Bills player.

Shilo still had a chance to make the team if Tampa Bay brought him back to play on the practice squad.

However, Tampa Bay finalized its 16-player practice squad – and Shilo is not on it.

Instead of signing Shilo to the practice squad, the Bucs signed a rookie safety who had been cut by the Carolina Panthers.

“Bucs are signing rookie safety Jack Henderson, just cut by the Panthers, to their practice squad,” Fox Sports’ Greg Auman tweeted.

“The Henderson signing means the Bucs are not bringing back rookie safety Shilo Sanders, who was among their cuts to get down to 53,” Auman added.

Shilo’s father, NFL legend Deion Sanders reacted to Shilo being cut by the Bucs.

“I’m proud of my kids – all of ’em. And I’ve prepared my kids for anything and everything that can happen in life and in sports. That’s part of fatherhood, that’s part of parenting, that’s part of having a relationship. So, he is mentally where he needs to be, physically where he needs to be,” Deion continued.

“We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team. But if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward to what he’s gonna do next. So, Shilo’s a man of many talents… He’s gonna be straight. All the Sanders are gonna be straight, with or without football. You’d better believe that… I take care of mine. And I always have, and y’all know what I mean.”
