During an appearance on “CBS Mornings” on June 24, Monica called her partnership with Brandy a “musical marriage.”
Rumor had it that Monica punched Brandy in the face during a dispute years ago. They have since kissed and made up.
“We created the communication and the relationship to do it,” Monica said.
“The Boy Is Mine” was the lead single off Monica’s second studio album of the same name in 1998. The Boy Is Mine album was certified triple platinum.
The single, featuring a duet with Monica and Brandy, was a smash hit. It became the best-selling song of the year with 2.6 million copies sold. The song remained at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 13 weeks.
