Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson is not financially supporting the family of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The false rumor started with a Facebook post after Kirk was fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon in Utah.
22-year-old Tyler Robinson, a UVU college student, was arrested Thursday night and charged with Charlie Kirk’s murder. Robinson reportedly confessed to his father, Matt, a 27-year veteran of the Washington County (Utah) Sheriff’s Department.

According to reports, Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson (pictured) pledged to pay all living and educational expenses for Kirk’s two children, a girl and a boy.
But the rumor turned out to be false.
NFL superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson retweeted former NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith’s message: “Celebrating the death of someone you don’t share the same beliefs as is wild. Seeing it play out in real time is disgusting.”

Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb asked the Cowboys and all NFL teams to observe a moment of silence for Kirk.
The NY Yankees and NFL’s Green Bay Packers held moments of silence for Kirk on Wednesday and Thursday.
“The NFL condemns all violence in our communities. It will take all of us to stop hate,” said a Packers announcer before Green Bay’s win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday night.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker wrote on X (Twitter): “Thank you for your strong witness for Christ, Charlie. Thank you for pursuing truth and leading your family as a husband & father.”
NFL legend Julian Edelman took to X and wrote: “Doesn’t matter where you land in the political landscape. Violence like this is never acceptable. Praying for the family.”
But others called out the NFL for not tweeting an official statement in support of Kirk.
Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele called out sports leagues to send condolences to Kirk’s family – “You know – kinda like you did when career criminal George Floyd died.”
Dear pro sports leagues: Looking forward to seeing you release statements & send condolences to Charlie Kirk’s family after he was murdered for his political beliefs. You know – kinda like you did when career criminal George Floyd died. @NFL @NBA @WNBA @MLB @NHL
