A prominent New York attorney representing the Kardashian family emailed Sandrarose.com demanding a retraction of my article covering Ray J’s statements.
As you know, Ray J accused Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, of human trafficking.
In a recent podcast, Ray J claimed he spoke to the feds and a “RICO is coming.”
Attorney Alex Spiro wrote in an email on Friday, Sept. 26:
“We write to respectfully bring to your attention that your content contains materially false statements regarding alleged federal investigations that do not exist. We believe this matter can be resolved promptly through your voluntary removal of the content and publication of an appropriate clarification.”
Spiro accused Sandrarose.com of making an “uncritical amplification” of Ray J’s remarks, including that members of the Kardashian family are “currently under investigation for RICO charges” and that “It’s worse than Diddy.”.
Spiro wrote:
“We state unequivocally that no such federal investigation exists, no law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering charges against our clients, and no credible evidence whatsoever supports these inflammatory allegations.”

“The publication of such serious criminal accusations without any attempt at verification or corroboration from legitimate law enforcement sources constitutes defamation per se under California law.”
“The publication of these allegations without making even a cursory attempt to verify them with federal law enforcement authorities—who would have readily confirmed that no such investigation exists—constitutes textbook reckless disregard for the truth under the actual malice standard. Your reliance on the unsubstantiated assertions of an individual with a documented history of making false and antagonistic statements about our clients, without appropriate disclaimers or verification protocols, represents a fundamental breach of journalistic standards and demonstrates reckless disregard for truth.”
Spiro continued:
“Mr. Norwood lied about having an intimate relationship with recording artist Janae Wherry (“Sexyy Red”) — a claim which he subsequently retracted and admitted he “went out of control.” His apparent motivation to generate publicity through sensationalized and false claims about our clients, combined with his acknowledged personal animosity toward the family, renders his statements inherently unreliable and unsuitable for publication as factual reporting.”
My response is this: I’m confused as to why Mr. Spiro is emailing me demanding a retraction of allegations that I did not make.
Sandrarose.com is a gossip blog, not a news organizations. My job as a gossip blogger is to report gossip for entertainment purposes.
Webster’s Dictionary defines “Gossip” as “light informal conversation for social occasions; a groundless rumor; idle chatter.”
Everyone knows that gossip is not to be taken seriously.
Why threaten a blogger with legal action for simply doing my job and reporting gossip?
