Models walked the runway at Chanel’s Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026 runway show as part of Paris Fashion Week in Paris, France.
The fashions were breathtakingly elegant. It was designer Matthieu Blazy’s first show for Chanel and he did not disappoint.
Matthieu, 41, was appointed creative director in April. He previously helmed Bottega Veneta.

Chanel is one of the world’s leading luxury brands with $20 billion in revenue in 2024.
“Ready-to-wear is still performing very well,” Chanel’s Bruno Pavlovsky said. “However, we could sense a slight weariness with certain looks [from the last collections]. Customers were extremely eager to see what Matthieu [Blazy] was going to come up with. Now is the time for boldness, for taking risks.”

Matthieu’s set design for the Paris show incorporated the solar system with planets balancing the effects of the dark resin runway to create the illusion of the Milky Way.

“I wanted a universal set, but one that would inspire dreams. We live in a complicated world, and I think my role is to bring people together. Everyone looks at the same sky,” he explained.

Matthieu structured the collection with blends of tweed, wool, cotton, and even golden wheat stalks across one dress.

“It’s not your grandma’s tweed,” said InStyle magazine.
“The Chanel woman is everywhere in the world; she is universal,” said Mattheiu.
