Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups are on leave from the NBA following their gambling arrests.
Terry was charged with wire fraud and money laundering for taking himself out of a 2023 NBA game to help friends win a prop bet. Federal prosecutors say Terry had bettors send $200,000 cash to his home after they won prop bets.
Court records obtained by ESPN, show the IRS filed a $8,218,211 federal income tax lien against Terry in November 2023.
The NBA previously announced Terry would continue to receive his full $26 million salary from the Miami Heat. But following the public uproar, the team announced he will not be paid. His paychecks will be placed in escrow until the federal investigation is complete.

Chauncey was also arrested on gambling charges in a separate early morning FBI raid last Thursday, Oct. 23. He was charged with wire fraud, illegal gambling, and money laundering.
Prosecutors say the Sicilian mafia used Chauncey as a “face card” to lure high rollers to play rigged poker games.
One high roller lost $1 million in one night playing poker with Chauncey and his mafia pals.

Chauncey was suspended as head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers. Sources tell ESPN that he will not receive his paycheck until after the federal probe is completed.
NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal said of both men: “I’m ashamed that those guys would put their families and their careers in jeopardy… if you’re making $9 million… how much more do you need?”
