Bern Nadette Stanis, who played Thelma on “Good Times,” celebrated her 72nd birthday with friends at a party in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday.

In a viral video from the party, Bern Nadette danced with her Good Times co-star Ralph Carter, who played Michael Evans on the series.

Bern Nadette was born on December 22, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York.

Bern Nadette is an author of four books: Situations 101: Relationships, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly; For Men Only; Situations 101: Finances; and The Last Night.

Bern Nadette graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and later studied acting at the Juilliard School in New York.

As a teenager, she competed in Miss Black America pageants, and went on to become Miss Brooklyn. She was the first runner-up in the Miss New York state pageant.

She auditioned for and won the role of Thelma Evans on the CBS sitcom Good Times that ran from February 1974 to August 1979.

Later, she made appearances on The Cosby Show, The Love Boat, The Wayans Bros, The Parent ‘Hood, Girlfriends, and What’s Happening Now!!.

Bern Nadette was married four times. She lives in Atlanta with her two adult children, including daughter Brittany Rose.
