AI-generated “artist” Xania Monet released her debut album, titled The Things I Didn’t Say, following her viral single, “Say My Name With Respect.”

The 21-track album, written by Xania’s creator Telisha Nikki Jones, shares her emotions, conversations, and truths that were left unspoken, capturing moments of love, heartbreak, faith, healing, and self-reflection.

Xania made history as the first AI artist to chart on Billboard.com last year.

Nikki defended her creation and the work she put into bringing Xania’s music to life. “I still put in the work,” she argued. “Xania is an extension of me… I look at her as a real person.”

Unfortunately, some music fans don’t appreciate AI artists who replace real singers on the music charts.

That Grape Juice, the urban pop culture blog based in the UK and Los Angeles, wrote a post about the album’s release.

Readers let the blogger know exactly how they feel about the post promoting AI music.

One person wrote: “Really, TGJ? Promoting AI music now?”

Another person wrote: “Please do not support these kinds of foolishness. We are here for some human beings with real talent, not a computer generated robot.”

A third reader wrote: What is this BS? ‘Xania is finding her voice amid the criticism?’ Really? Who the hell wrote that? Ridiculous. No thanks. IT (not her) can f off.”

A fourth person commented: “Why are we fueling the rise of AI music while real artists are losing their livelihood? These are creators who work tirelessly, perfecting their voices and pens without the crutch of a dang algorithm. By promoting this mess, you are devaluing HUMAN talent and choosing soulless software over genuine passion and emotion.”
