Sheryl Lee Ralph addressed controversial comments made by actor Timothée Chalamet about ballet and the opera.
Other celebrities dragged Timothée for saying “no one cares” about ballet or opera. But Sheryl defended him.

Timothée, also known as Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, made the comment at a town hall with actor Matthew McConaughey in February.
Timothée is campaigning for an Oscar award for Best Actor for his role in A24’s Marty Supreme. But industry insiders say his comments hurt his Oscar chances.
An industry insider called the actor “tone-deaf” and criticized his “attitude on the press tour.”
But Sheryl Lee Ralph defended Timothée at the recent TIME Women of the Year Awards. She noted that Timothée’s mother, sister, and aunt are ballerinas.
“When young Timothée Chalamet spoke about ballet and all of that, he was just mad at his mother that day,” she said. “He was just mad at his sister that day. He was just mad at his aunt that day. He didn’t mean what he says, because I know that boy loves a few – has loved a few ballerinas. Yes he has.”
