Washington, D.C. Assistant Police Chief Andre Wright faces termination over crude text messages he sent his wife from his work phone.
In March a police spokesman confirmed Wright had been placed on leave while the investigation is ongoing.
His wife, Inspector Natasha Wright, works in the police department’s Human Resources office.
An internal report shows Wright and his wife may have altered crime statistics. He is also accused of sending crude text messages to his wife soliciting sex acts and mocking his colleagues.

Last week, the police union announced the Wrights and 11 other officers face termination from their jobs over the altered crime statistics.
The U.S. Department of Justice confiscated multiple phones from MPD officers as part of the investigation.
Most of the text messages Wright sent to his wife mocked his female and male co-workers. In one text message, Wright described a colleague while he was in a meeting, “This Big Titt*e bitch can’t read.”
In reference to a work trip, he wrote, “I’m going out of town with a fat ugly b*tch, will be back tomorrow.”
And after a man was shot in the leg in March 2025, Wright texted his inspector wife to “make sure this stupid mother fucka didn’t shoot himself and is lying.”
“To hear the sanctimoniousness from Chief Wright and Natasha Wright who were at best unprofessional and at worst downright scandalous… it’s just remarkable,” said attorney Pamela Keith. “It’s indicative of a complete absence of moral compass.”
An internal report shows 11 other MPD police officials tampered with crime data that falsely made the city look safer.
