He’s third in line to throne and he’s the most famous baby in the world — even more famous than Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, or Kim Kardashian’s infant daughter, North West. Proud parents kate Middleton and Prince Williams wasted no time showing off their bundle of joy as they left St. Mary’s Hospital Tuesday evening. Middleton gave birth to the boy, weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, at 9:24 p.m. EST Monday evening.
“It’s very emotional and it’s such a special time. I think any parent probably knows what this feeling is like,” Middleton said as she cradled her newborn in her arms.
Unlike narcissistic American celebrities, British royalty don’t sell photos of their babies to the tabloids.
“I’ll remind him of his tardiness when he’s a bit older,” said William. “He’s got her looks, thankfully.”
He added, “I know how long you all have been waiting out here…He’s got a good pair of lungs on him…He’s taken his first nappie already. He’s got way more hair than me. Thank God!”
Per royal tradition, Kate and William displayed the baby on the steps of the hospital as the crowd cheered. Then William took the baby from Kate and held him so the photographers could take pictures. The couple walked back inside the hospital. They emerged moments later with William carrying the baby’s car seat. William got in the driver’s seat after helping Middleton into the back seat with her baby. And off they went.
